Slow start great finish

It took me longer to get into than the first few books but the second half of the book definitely delivered! It also took some getting used to the narrator change. But overall I’d give it a 7/10

Move away from Avery

I loved the original trilogy, but I was getting bored of Avery. I love how this one is a mixup of all the boys, her and still the stories are tangled and work so well together. Lovely addition to the series and I hope if more is made it will be now closer to this than original ones. The narrators were great and you could see everything through your minds eye.

Loved it!

Another fabulous Hawthorne tale, this is my second favourite out of the 4 books so far. I love to do an escape room and solve puzzles, so for me these books hit all the right buttons. Can't wait to see where the next one takes us

Another great addition to the series

I have listened to all the books in this series with my 12-13 the old son. When we finished the main trilogy last summer his first question was are there more!
The excitement of the games and puzzles more than makes up for his lack of interest in the romance side of things.
The story changing from Avery's perspective to the boys' perspectives for this book I think helps freshen things up. It's all the same characters you know, same personalities but the story being from 2 guys's viewpoints (Jameson's & Grayson's) opens the world up a bit.
When my son was away I continued listening without him as I was hooked and I still enjoyed it the second time through while he caught up too. I think that's a sign of a good book!

Disappointed

I know this will have been a fantastic book, however I just can’t get past the first few chapters.
Compared to the previous three books, this is read by a different voice actor and I simply just don’t like the voice. It gives me the heebie jeebies , honestly.

Really unfortunate as I have really loved this series of books so far. I’m going to have to buy a hard copy of the book and read it.
