Summary
How hard do you have to shake the family tree to find the truth about the past?
Fifteen year-old Rae Kerrigan never really knew her family's history. Her mother and father died when she was young and it is only when she accepts a scholarship to the prestigious Guilder Boarding School in England that a mysterious family secret is revealed.
As Rae struggles with new friends, a new school and a star-struck forbidden love, she must also face the ultimate challenge: receive a tattoo on her 16th birthday with specific powers that may bind her to an unspeakable darkness. It's up to Rae to undo the dark evil in her family's past and have a ray of hope for her future.

Fantastic book
I love these books, having read them all I love being able to listen to them whilst doing housework. However the narraters accents are awful, I’m only on book 1 so I’m hoping they will improve.

Worse narration I have EVER heard
How on earth did this performance make it into Audible! It is such a shame as the story had real potential. I just could not take the absolutely terrible narration. Especially Molly's.. was that suppose to be Welsh? really? Gave up after book 1....

Accents
The worlds worst welsh and Scottish accents ,But thank goodness the story was good, as only one American accent I think they should have used someone from the uk

Over all a good read, after getting used to a bad welsh accent😯
At first I was more than a little put off by the awful accent by the reader, for the character in the book called (Molly)but it grew on me and was able to settle into the story. I see there are 2 more books that follow this set of six, however I don’t think I will bother with them , as the synopsis more or less told the rest of the story. I did enjoy the books and would give them 8 out of 10 .

I struggled to finnish
I liked the story but the narrator cannot do accents but still trys. The accents used are slightly offensive and overall terrible.

What are these accents
Who checks these books before they are sent out to the public. These accent are laughable and possibly a touch offensive. Maybe a British person should have done the narration. Story is good though.

If you are affected by inaccurate accents - avoid. Book is worth reading though.
The books are fine with interesting plots and a typical American view of life in the UK. These glaring errors do spoil my enjoyment of the books but even worse…. The narrator’s portrayal of a Welsh accent is appalling. Molly would be crawling away in embarrassment to sob in the corner with the other character, Julian, who apparently can only deliver speech at the rate of one word every 20 seconds. These idiosyncratic errors spoil the flow of the narrative. In the end my ears started wincing the moment I realised one of these was about to speak.
