Summary

All I wanted was a friggin burrito.

My name is Brandon Ferryman. I went out one night to get a burrito. Who knew that such a simple thing would change my life, or end it?

I woke up on the side of the road with some pumpkin-headed monster saying he was the god of death, fate, and justice. I was chosen to run a very special establishment. A place that lay between worlds. A place called the Coffin Hotel.

Now I have to fight monsters, free spirits, and run a mystical hotel. I'm clearly not qualified, but when has that ever stopped anyone from doing anything.

This is my journey of gaining power, fighting injustice, making sure the guests are comfortable, and trying to not lose my head.

The Coffin Hotel is an urban fantasy adventure with action, humor, angels, witches, undead, demons with Karen haircuts, tentacle nerds, over-the-top situations, unconventional relationships, and burritos!

awesome

I have to say that I've never seen an isekai quite this way. what a wonderful story. The MC is figuring out how to run a hotel and protecting it from rowdy monsters. A lot of interesting and creepy powers and an obsession with burrito! can't wait for more.

The Coffin Hotel

At my request I received a copy of this audiobook in order to give a fair and unbiased review.

Genre: Isekai fantasy harem as an undead hotel manager
Power dynamics in harem: The MC is a good, horny guy that many find irresistible. It is still early days harem-wise, so time will tell for the final power dynamics.
Explicit/adult material: Explicit. Orcs, undead, succubi. Soul satisfying.

Summary:
Brandon loves burritos. And in the end, he literally died for one. Luckily a god-like entity raises him as a handsome hunk of flesh and assigns him to run a monster hotel that is a common stop for monsters and souls that are currently between worlds. The Hotel has Burritos. And a sexy witch that is supposed to help him get started. And a sea of incubi and other sexy monsters just stopping for a night. What could go wrong?

Narrator
Voice diversity: Every character has a distinct and easily recognisable voice. Some with added sound effects to highlight their power or exoticness.
Pacing and intonation: The story is told in a lively and engaging way.
Sex scenes: Well done.
Overall Narration: 4.5/ 5 stars.

The book’s strengths.
- The premise of a running a hotel with a stream of hot customers to bed
- The premise of running a hotel for souls and monsters between worlds
- The financial/progressive fantasy aspects of investing the paid soul coins in the hotel and equipment
- The girls are diverse and cute
- The narration

The book’s weaknesses.
- The focus of burritos was a little much for me

Overall: 4.5/5 stars

Dont't know what to say really

This is a classic example of a story that could be interesting and engaging, a book that has an interesting concept even though there is nothing new overall but it also shows that a great potential only gets you so far if the author can’t execute the plot, action or story well. The writing in this book is straight up horrible in the beginning I could not figure out if the author tried to be funny or serious, because most of the dialogue ends up being cringe at best or straight up garbage. The dialogue in general is poorly written and not executed very well. The main character is annoying and extremely unfunny, sometimes even vile.

However if you like sex and like it described in detail (probably also the only time the book actually describes anything in detail) this book has a lot of different scenes and fetishes being explored unfortunately I don't fall into that category that really enjoys reading or hear about that and when over a hour of this book happens in the bedroom it straight up becomes tiring.
A lot of ex machina also happens in this story to make sure everything is convenient when the main character needs it, he also becomes too strong way too fast without any stakes added at all meaning that most action scenes are boring and uninspired. The pacing is also off in the book and goes from a normal scene and then quickly escaldes without building towards it and also without any satisfying conclusion.

Also I know a lot of people has this fantasy about every girl falling for them and just straight up wants them regardless of their flaws or behavior, But man it never translate well into stories and honestly hearing the main lead talk about Nyx ass or breast everytime he sees her is just straight up bad writing which is ends up being cringe at the end she has a nice ass I get it you dont need to tell me every fucking time!

I honestly feel bad for the voice actors in this book because they do a really good job at making this book bearable to hear till the end even though Melisandre Vert doesn't have a lot to work with from her characters in this book because most of her line either require her to moan or scream that the main leading character has a nice dong… properly also why she may be a bit off in general throughout most of the reading again I don't blame her.

If you like sex, cringe dialogue and burritos this is for you. If you want character development, story, describtion/details and cohesive writing look somewhere else.
