Summary

The old-wooden New Hope Baptist Church is postulated in the deep countryside landscape of Jenkins Georgia, along with a rural humble cemetery in the rear of the church that has several church members from time past. The modest edifice was built and established under the guidance of Minister Ralph Henderson many centuries ago. Ralph raised his small family in the church and shepherded his faithful flock.

He gave enriching sermons of God’s love, which provides redemption for mankind. Various times he would state: "From the cradle to the grave, we will need God to stand by us knowing that through the progression of life, essentially from birth to death, we need help, and by standing by faith, God will help us endure the end."

As the psalmist says, "There are times when we stand alone although we’ve done no wrong; oh Lord stand by me. There are times when we stand the test even though we’ve done our best, oh’ Lord stand by me. Oh, Lord’ stands by me while I walk this lonesome road; help me bear this heavy load, and if I stumble Lord, pick me up, help me to drink from this bitter cup, oh’ Lord stand by me.”

This sentiment is reflected in the Bible concerning the journey of life. God's message reflects that life transitions are inevitable. If we are willing to trust God as we endure this journey’s end, we will be all right because of the Lord’s promises of everlasting life for faithful Christians. The Bible in Ecclesiastics: 3:1-8 states there is a time for everything.

This narrative is about the various members of New Hope Baptist Church who endure transitions in life. As a testament of faith, even at the end, their material resting place in the rear of the church they trusted in the Lord. This chronicle is about the various members’ lives of the church who have come and gone. Some are buried in the earthly resting place in the church cemetery, knowing that their final resting place is in heaven.
