Second book even better than the first

I have only recently come across J M Douglish and have to say I’m a bit smitten. The characters are now really finding their patter and the storyline is great. Slightly worried about the rate of how quickly I listened to the first two books as I don’t want to suddenly have to wait for books to come out. Once again, immaculate narration by Angus King, he is quickly becoming one of my all time favourite listen too.

Captivating

Lovely story, except that I guessed the perp about 2/3 the way through. Evoked the atmosphere of one of my favourite places in the world. Itch to go back.

Excellent local colour

Good characterisation and dialogue with plenty of pithy scottishisms. Had to get out the atlas to enjoy the nostalgia for Skye..Good plotting too.

Characters are so realistic

This writer never disappoints. Full-bloodied characters in a unique setting that is enchanting and a plot with twists and turns that entertain. Angus King’s narration is superb as always.
