After failing out of multiple foster homes and narrowly escaping juvenile detention, sixteen-year-old Quinn is undergoing therapy and rehabilitation at a residential treatment center. When Quinn and her best friend, Keisha, sneak onto the roof of the treatment center to look at the stars, they have no idea they’ll be getting a front row seat to the start of the zombie apocalypse.

As zombies, or “carriers” as the news calls them, infiltrate the treatment center, escape becomes essential. Quinn and Keisha make a pact to leave together, but several unexpected tag-alongs complicate their plans.

As the girls battle the carriers and wrestle with their doubts about each other, who will survive and who is just dead weight?

Really different !

I loved this book, normally a’m not a fan of 1st person perspective but this book was so nicely written that I could help myself but finish it as quick as I could to find out what happens in the end.

The author has done such a wonderful job at making the Main character refreshingly different to what you see most of the time, I,e the Rick Grimes type. This definitely a nice blend of psychological and horror that had me hooked.

Throughout I found myself intrigued with “Quinn’s” character and really wanted to learn more about her motivations. I found it interesting the more I listened the more I started to think about the masks and games people play in real life. Can we really trust everyone with the words they speak? Or is there more to them?

I would highly recommend this book if you want something different!
