About this listen

It cannot be true because it is too insane to be true! That's what you'd probably think when you start listening to this book. But it is all true and all the events described in this book happened times ago in a colossal communist empire: the USSR also known as the Soviet Union. The unbelievable adventures and the spiritual journey of the author of this memoir book started in that country, which does not exist anymore. In most cases, the social environment and culture that shaped a man's character, accompany him for the rest of his life. But sometimes people happen to live in an era of change, when the empire collapses, culture dies, and basic human values change drastically, like it happened in the USSR when it collapsed.

This is a self-written life story of a Russian psychiatrist, a man bestowed high reflexivity and clairvoyance, who miraculously gets out of the wreckage of his former homeland and immigrates to the United States, a country with a completely different culture. A story of a man, who learns that culture, connects the dots, using his unique experience, and inevitably finds in the American culture many painfully familiar features that destroyed civilization in the world he came from. Now that he made such a discovery, he can't but think painfully how to explain to his new countrymen that many of the things they believe in, and which they diligently implement, have already ruined the lives of their creators in a different world they've never lived in. The author does not claim to know the right solutions of the social issues he found. He just shares his vision and tells his life story that explains, where and how his vision have been formed. He believes that just sharing his vision and thoughts can help many people to start thinking positively and creatively and straighten their lives in many a situation.
