About this listen
Pierce
The Russians have taken far too much from me. So I’ll take something of theirs. Except, I never expected my captive to be a woman. She could be the key to destroying them entirely. I’ll do whatever it takes to get revenge. Even seduce the enemy.
Soon I discover she may not be my enemy after all.
Mila
For nearly my entire life I’ve been held prisoner by darkness and pain. And just when I think freedom is within my reach, it’s stolen by yet another man determined to break me. First with rage. Then with tenderness.
I’m helpless to resist his touch, even knowing that, in the end, all that waits for me is death.

Dark and fascinating
My only complaint is that it felt like it was too short. I would have loved more. That being said, the story was really good and the characters were likeable. The narrators did a great job.m

Pearce and Mila
The Enemy in my Bed is book 2 of the Brooklyn Kings. IMO I think the best listening experience would be to listen to the series in order. In this book we get Pearce and Mila and I honestly struggled to really connect to the story and characters. I was hoping for some more push and pull and an undeniable chemistry. This is a light enmies to lovers story with some strong instalust vibes with forced proximity. Mila surprised me with her being "ok" being held captive and tell wanting Pearce especially given her past. Overall it was still an enjoyable story and I am looking forward to the next listen in this series
Eva Caine and Walker Williams were great with narrating these characters and gave me an enjoyable listening experience.

Highly reccommend.
I got this audiobook at my request via a promo code and this is my voluntary review.
Book 2 of the Brooklyn Kings series by LK shaw is told in Dual Narration by Eva Caine and Walker Williams. Both of those performances were fantastic at building the connection and suspense in this book.
Pierce is looking out for his cousin Jacob, as always. He's no stranger to the danger of their criminal world or the danger that Russians pose, they did brutalize his sister after all, and he's carried a hatred for them ever since. When Jacob's wife Brenna was kidnapped and they rescued her from the compound where they found her with his current captive Mila, he knows he has to get answers to shut down their operation. He's surprised to learn the young boy they brought back to question about the Russians operation is actually a rather shapely woman hiding her curves.
No matter he plans to use whatever means necessary to get the information he needs. Mila was doing her best to escape Mikal's fortress with Brenna when their escape was interrupted, she left one prison, just to end up in another one. All she wants to do find her sister, but experience has taught her to expect disappointment. She doesn't know what to make of these Italian captors, but its not long before Pierce has her giving him the information he wanted, and her body.
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this journey with Pierce and Mila as they hunted down the answers they both needed, and learned that perhaps the other person in their bed wasn't as much an enemy as they first suspected.

My Thoughts on The Enemy in My Bed
This was a really good enemies to lover’s mafia romance. It certainly had some pretty dark elements to it. From the way the two main characters, Pierce and Mila come together to finding out about the horrors that not only she, but also her younger sister and his cousin had to go through. But it’s also a story full of survivors. Not even Pierce gets through unscathed. He has his own childhood trauma to work through. There was a small part of me that somewhat felt like the switch from enemies to more happened a little too quickly which was one of the reasons for my only being able to give it four stars. But once that switch happens, I feel like the actions, words, and emotions between the two felt very genuine. Overall, I really enjoyed the story. In particular, I enjoyed the narration. Both narrators did an excellent job with the story. The only thing I wish was different was that the distinction between accents, in particular with the female narrator were a bit stronger. I feel like when they were doing the inner dialogue the accents were basically nonexistent. This was another reason for the 4 stars. However, the tone and general ability to give a different “voice” to each character was pretty good. And I liked both voices very much as a whole. I wouldn’t hesitate to listen another book with these narrators. And I also look forward to more books from this author.

I loved the dual narration of Eva Caine and Walker Williams. They bought the action, pace. romance and heat.
I found myself, falling for Pierce as the story unfolds, Oh he's brutal and rough but the more he learns about MIla and what she is doing, the more you can see his feelings towards her changing. Both Pierce and Mila, have mentally and physically damaged by their childhoods. Can Pierce help Mila, and will the situation catch up with them?

Good characters
This was a good book. With good well written characters and an edgy storyline. I like how you learn the different characters traits and how that will bring the next books in the series to life. A great performance.

An Enemies-To-Lovers Mafia Romance
The Enemy In My Bed by LK Shaw is an enemies-to-lovers mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Eva Caine and Walker Williams. This is the second book in the Brooklyn Kings series.
This is the second book of LK's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Pierce and Mila. I liked that we got both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I can't wait for the next book in the series The Beast I Can't Tame to be released on audio so I can get Giovanni and Francesca's story.
Eva and Walker did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like enemies-to-lovers romances, mafia romances, contemporary romance, or romantic suspense.

Pierce & Mila!
LK Shaw continues to keep the dark romance flowing with her second book in the Brooklyn Kings series. This is about Pierce and Mila. Talking Mila to find out information about the Russian mafia may not be the best idea Pierce has had, but determined to get his revenge, he is hoping it will be what he needs. Mila is not what he expects though, and now his reason for taking her is seeming less important. As he gets to know her better, he feelings changes. Mila has secrets that she just won't tell. But are they the ones Pierce is seeking? And why is she attracted to this man? A little darker than book one, I fell into the story needing to know more information and see where it would take me. Including Brenna and Jacob from the first book gives that overlap and lets us continue to enjoy this exciting mafia romance.
Eva Caine and Walker Williams are continuing their narration of this series, and I truly enjoy their pairing. Caine has such a great voice for these strong women. She keeps them feisty and independent, yet gives them a bit of softness. Williams is a favorite, and his voices for dark romance are perfectly suited to these characters. Alpha and dangerous, he gives us Pierce. Loved this listen.
