About this listen
It's the most anticipated event of the decade – Big Lou and Fat Bob's wedding! After a wonderful day, Big Lou crashes back down to earth and finds that she is a victim of her own success. The lure of those famous bacon rolls is preventing her from leaving hungry customers without their daily dose of deliciousness. Will Big Lou find the happiness she so richly deserves?
The relative peace and tranquillity of 44 Scotland Street is about to be disrupted. Irene is to return for a two-month stay, consigning Bertie to a summer camp. Not satisfied with that, she somehow manages to come between the enigmatic nun, Sister Maria-Fiore dei Fiori di Montagna, and her friend, the hagiographer, Antonia Collie.
Can a person really change, even after being struck by lightning? Bruce's metamorphosis is put to the test as he prepares to leave his creature comforts for the monastic simplicity of Pluscarden Abbey. His house sitter, meanwhile, gets a little too comfortable and discovers that the talented Bruce Anderson's shoes are all too easy to slip into.

Nice book
Great narrator! Missed Pat McGregor and her father, apart from that a nice story.

The perfect antidote for sleepless nights!
Clever, perceptive and humorous observations of the minutiae of everyday life. The characters are further brought to life in David Rintoul’s brilliant narration. I enjoy reading the books but these audiobooks are perfect for anxious, wakeful hours of the night, enabling me to relax and drift off to sleep with a chuckle.

Never disappoints
So easy to listen to. I love Alexander McCall Smith's imagination. David Rintoul, pllleeeaaassse always narrate 44 Scotland Street books. I don't think it'll be the same someone else narrating.

Always a comforting balm for the soul. As always sad to leave the inhabitants of 44 Scotland street. Always has me yearning for my homeland. Looking forward to the next instalment as always.

The best ever series
Impossible to describe how wonderful these books are, I ran out of superlatives a long time ago. David Rintoul’s narration is perfect, a real pleasure to listen to. Highly recommend this listen.

Enjoyable
Would have liked more about Bertie! But various plot lines tidied up in a happy way.

Irenie?
Found it strange that in the 16th book of the series Bertie’s mother was referred to as Irenie instead of Irene as in all the others.
Also, found the lack of Big Lou in the storyline regarding Big Lou was a bit strange, left it feeling unresolved, and like listening to gossip rather than a story that could have given more to a great character.

Usual fab stuff by Monsieur Smith
Gentle humour with a couple of simple twists and turns. Olive is as evil as always.
