Summary

In The Extratempestrial Model, Dr. Michael P. Masters posits that UFOs and "aliens" are our future human descendants, coming back through time to visit and study their own hominin evolutionary past.

As a professor of anthropology, Masters uses an abductive approach to logically infer the best explanation. He examines well-documented abductee experiences in the context of this time travel model, and considers other theories put forth to elucidate this complex and mysterious phenomenon.

While no single model can account for all aspects of these encounters, in considering various contact cases across the world and through time, recurrent patterns emerge that may offer insight into what these objects are, who is inside, and from where—or potentially when—they are coming.

Fascinating

I have long thought that so called 'aliens' are us from the future i.e. time travellers. The author presents this hypothesis in a fair and balanced way. I frequently had to replay certain sections to try to get my head around some of the concepts. Excellent book.

Very captivating.

While I don't 100% agree with the authors hypothesis, I still think he makes compelling argument about the origins of ufo phenomena. This book takes 3rd best place in my library right after Incident at devil's den books. Also major points to the author for doing audio himself he has great voice.

total mind wrap

From two simple ideas, the block time universe model, and the ability to navigate through time as we navigate through space, the UFO questions - visitation, abduction - can be settled.

But is the block time universe model correct? And will we be able to go back in time? Dunno, and probably, perhaps.

Let's assume so; the conflicts and conundrums fall away, and the rest begins to make perfect sense ...

Good

Intresting perspective on the phenomenon. Although I don't agree with many of his arguments (very anthropocentric) I understand were all these are coming from as I have similar academic back ground as he does. He leaves a lot more to think about regarding what the phenomenon is and what does it mean gathering many widely known cases and some new to me. Many indeed have a time travel more logical explanation than space visitors .

excellent listen

I enjoyed this far more than I thought I might. Dr Masters puts the theory forward eloquently and clearly explaining why he holds this view. I have to say that or me personally it stacks up very favourably against all the other theories.
well worth a read for anyone interested in the uap phenomenon

Compelling and concise

Mike Masters nails it. Perhaps some day it will become common knowledge that the phenomenon is in fact, us Humans - and has been all along, albeit from different periods of time.
This book has strengthened most of the beliefs that I had already formed, and I take great comfort in seeing that somebody far more intelligent than I shares similar views.
An awesome read, I finished it in 2 days!!
