Summary
Space: the biggest geopolitical story of the coming century—new from the multi-million-copy international bestselling author of Prisoners of Geography.
Spy satellites orbiting the moon. Space metals worth more than most countries’ GDP. People on Mars within the next ten years.
This isn’t science fiction. It’s astropolitics.
Humans are heading up and out, and we’re taking our power struggles with us. Soon, what happens in space will shape human history as much the mountains, rivers and seas have on Earth. It’s no coincidence that Russia, China and the USA are leading the way. The next fifty years will change the face of global politics.
In this gripping book, bestselling author Tim Marshall lays bare the new geopolitical realities to show how we got here and where we’re going, covering the new space race; great-power rivalry; technology; economics; war; and what it means for all of us down here on Earth. Written with all the insight and wit that have made Marshall the UK’s most popular writer on geopolitics, this is the essential book on power, politics and the future of humanity.

Another great read from Tim Marshall
Having read both of the authors prior books, this one did not disappoint! Though a lot of the book is based on hypotheticals, it has to be as we are yet to explore space in such a manner as that which we’ve just dawned upon.

marvellous
Tim is a splendid author.
The book is a touch short , and most of content I already wes aware of. BUT it is well put together and very insightful. I really hope its what will happen, I can only hope the politicians of all shades can stop being such dicks. We could , all of us be so much more . If only the autocratic leaders would just stop being, well look at Ukraine. Mr Marshall is also a good narrator. I would also recommend his other books , especially the geography books.

chap is in love with musk
the author is bet up the hole of musk to annoying degree. musk is a charlatan and acting like he is a good thing for the future is ridiculous. history and possible future scenarios are interesting enough to look past the musk fanboying

Another belter from Tim Marshall
Great analysis and told with a characteristic mix of detail and humour that makes a complicated subject eminently digestible.
Well narrated, though early on I realised the narrator's voice reminded me of William Hague and I couldn't un-hear him from then on.
