Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Welcome to the Anchorage, for a honeymoon you'll never forget....

Charles and Grace wanted a quiet staycation honeymoon, but when their train terminates early due to a storm up ahead, they wonder if they made the wrong decision. Forced to take shelter in the nearest seaside town, Saltwater, they discover that there is only one guesthouse left. Unlike the rest of Saltwater, the Anchorage is entirely deserted.

That night, with the storm howling relentlessly, Grace is woken by a child crying. She is haunted by the sound, until Charles convinces her it was only her imagination. But the next day, she finds a warning scrawled in the guest book: Leave now. Do not trust them.

As the storm rages on, phone lines are down, transport links cut off. Grace is desperate to leave, but Charles remains unaffected by the eerie stillness of the house. Is it just Grace's imagination, or do the owners - and Charles - have something to hide?

Thank you for staying at the Anchorage. We hope you'll be back soon....

Thoroughly enjoyed! Couldn’t stop listening 😁

I really really enjoyed this book! I would have listened to it all in 1 go if I could have! Narrators were both outstanding!!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💯😁 i looked for more books read by them! Aswell as from this author but sadly only 1 more by the author which i will get for sure, and really none than i liked by narrators. I felt like i was actually at this place with the book which was brilliant by the author and the narrators!👏🏽 i imagined everything in detail in my head, it was great! It was creepy but nothing really scary but also had a good story to it, and it has you wondering what’s going to happen next. Which is what kept my interest aswell as the author brilliantly making you feel like you are there!!👏🏽😁 i loved this and im gutted its finished! It was everything i like in a book just about 😊 I don’t get the other review it was boring? To them maybe but everyone enjoys different types of stories so thats why I only review a book if i enjoy it as its not fair to slate a book that someone else may love! And in this case i loved it and someone else thought it was boring, and I certainly didn’t in ANY way whatsoever? So bottom line... i LOVED it!🤗😁👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💯💯💯 thank you to the author, both narrators 💯👏🏽 and also to audible for another brilliant book!😁💯👏🏽💜xxxx

Good Story

An interesting story with unexpected twists and turns, just let down slightly by the ending.

The Guest Book

Listened to this in a few days. Not quite sure. The readers were good, but the story a little implausible.

Boring

The story was like treacle and, although, I tried hard to get through it I gave up.
The narrators tried their best but even they seemed to struggle to make it interesting

Disappointing

I had high hopes for this story but unfortunately it was so long winded and had a naff ending.
I did like the fact that it had 2 narrators for the parts, I would like more audiobooks to have that.

Not engaging enough for me

It was ok, I didn’t feel particularly engaged with any of the characters, didn’t really care what happened to them, wasn’t particularly intrigued by the mystery behind the story. Easy enough listening to have on on the background but not the really engaging story I’d hoped for. Im afraid I also found the ending silly.
