Summary

Tonight, Osmond Box, the reclusive yet wildly successful writer/director known for his completely surprising Broadway plays, is debuting his seventh and most highly anticipated production of his career: The Guilty. Nothing is known about the story, the setting, the premise, or even the actors involved. The first people to discover the truth will be the lucky ones sitting in those seats opening night. Phones are collected; doors are locked. The rest of the world eagerly awaits the first reviews....

Two hours later, when the doors are finally allowed to open, half of the audience will be applauding wildly. The other half will be fleeing the theater in mortal terror. Has Osmond Box done it again? Or has he done something far, far worse?

Please note: Portions of this show contain mature language and themes. Listener discretion is advised.

Painful

This could have been reduced to half of the listening time as a lot of repetitive dialogue which made it painful. I could/would have stopped listening half way through except for wanting to know the outcome which was very predictable.
Glad this was a free listen and didn't use a credit on it.

Irritating and repetitive

Was fooled into investing two hours listening before deciding that there was so much tedious repetition to carry on! I kept hoping that there would be some development in the plot, but in the end decided not to waste any more time on it. I found none of the characters were particularly likeable and some were just irritating (perhaps this was deliberate?)!
The narrators' performance was great, however!

All a bit confused

Didn’t like how it jumped from the play to the investigation, found it confusing and didn’t feel invested in any of the characters so didn’t really care about the outcome though it was actually a good ending.

Short but good

I knew the murderer early and guessed the ending, but I often do. it was still enjoyable. Great free book on the audible plus.

Confusing and a little dull

just couldn't get into it. glad it was a freebie. characters were all pretty irritating and I could sense the plot becoming too farcical for me.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

John Lithgow is wonderful as usual. I enjoyed the other performances as well and I really liked the concept. Well worth a listen.

concept interesting but...

Overall this was awful, especially the hammy reading of the script and mindless plonking of the piano keys throughout which was distracting and annoying in the extreme. The only reason I listened to the end was because I was on a 4hr roadtrip and couldn't be bothered to stop and download something else. This could possibly be an interesting listen if it was redone more professionally, but in the end the endless plot twists remain contrived and is this book's most irredeemable feature.

Get Out

Loved it. Not really sure if what's happening is real or staged. Great casting with John Lithgow.

dull, dull, dull

so very dreary, totally unlikeable characters so didn't care who died or why. A bit of a giveaway when 2 characters are both played by John Lithgow.
