About this listen
This audiobook contains exclusive bonus interviews with Staz and Special Forces TV stars Jason Fox, Ollie Ollerton, Dylan Hartley and many more…
'Incredible ... Staz is an inspiration' Nims Purja
'This book will only serve you well' Ant Middleton
'A must read for anyone who wants to succeed and thrive under pressure' Dylan Hartley
'Stacked with insights ... The book you need when the going gets tough' Aldo Kane
Anthony 'Staz' Stazicker served an impressive 13 years of distinguished and decorated military service, ten within the Special Forces, before founding the multi-million pound technical clothing company ThruDark. Throughout his career in the Special Forces—featuring gunfights, door-kicking operations, and against-the-odds escapes—he learned hard lessons that would later provide crucial intelligence equally applicable to business, innovation and enterprise.
The Hard Road Will Take You Home provides a mission plan that distils the processes and tactics Staz gathered throughout his career and translates them into tools that can be used in any number of settings, and by individuals with a wide range of experience and backgrounds. It instils the psychological cues required to bring next level success to any mission. And it lays bare the levels of discipline required to maintain that next level success.
Join Staz and a powerful line-up of guests in conversation, including Ollie Ollerton and Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox, stars of TV’s SAS: Who Dares Wins; former England Rugby captain Dylan Hartley; Record breaking mountaineer and Special Forces veteran Nims Purja; Former Royal Marine, Invictus Games athlete and motivational speaker Mark Ormrod; Former Royal Marines Commando Sniper turned TV adventurer Aldo Kane, plus insights from Sam Sheriff, Scott Britton, Steve Clark, Chris Billam Smith, Alan Barratt and Gaz Bamford.
Introducing four concepts that make up the life of an elite operator—battle prep; techniques, tactics and procedures; teamwork and the lessons we should all consider when learning how to innovate, persevere and succeed—this audiobook comes stacked with insight, easily applicable techniques and psychological processes gathered from Staz's time serving with the most resilient fighting force in the world.
As a creative resource, it's a weapon.

All, a must read and listen.
A hoofing and articulate display of not taking no for an answer.
The book resonants with me on so many different levels from military service to digging deep when the shit hits the fan from horrendous divorce to finding victims in disasters in NZ and Indonesia.
My favourite part of the book is Foxy (Fellow Lutoner!) being brutally honest and the sync that the author Staz has with him in interview. This touched a nerve.
Thanks for sharing. For me it was more like a conversation than and audio book.

interesting, practical and motivational
I've listened to several of this type of book, and while most were really good, I think this for me was the cream of the crop. Wasn't expecting much, especially as it appeared to have a business slant, but the "lessons" can be practically applied to all aspects of life. It's all very down to earth and non-preachy. I also loved the structure, and the post chapter debrief summary, then discussion with various guests, was brilliant.
Was very interested to hear about Staz's past intermingled with his current endeavours along with his guests, truly inspirational. Was also pleasantly surprised to hear some BJJ motivation, as I'm a 53 year old blue belt who is finally realising that you have to attempt and practice your weakest positions and moves to make progress, and to drop the ego for gaining a tap to risk being tapped often, it doesn't really matter.
My only constructive criticism would be to balance the level of the guest audio, maybe they weren't close enough to the mic but some of the guests were really quiet to hear whilst driving.
Excellent stuff, and good luck with ThruDark.

Amazing book
A superb book a real inspirational read with fantastic guests all with a story to tell. Stan has a way of articulating success but in such a humble way he’s encapsulated me from the first page to the last. Brilliant well done.

A super inspiring book!
I found this book to be thoroughly interesting and humbling. It's incredibly insightful in showing how a successful military career can be adapted into a thoroughly successful civil career. I wholeheartedly congratulate Staz on this wonderful book, which I highly recommend 👍🏼

Great listen , loved the guests at end of chapters.
This was a great listen. loved the guests that were brought in at end of the chapters , particularly Gaz Banford whose podcast Duratus is very good.
I wasn't particularly interested in the business side so much but it's amazing to see how ThruDark has gone from strength to strength.

Self Development
I purchased the audible version and well worth it. A great listen of the author life experiences & journey along with topics on self development. Highly recommend the book anyone interested in the military world and for anyone who needs guidance of how to start and maintain the self development journey.

An amazing book that both tells Staz’s story and gives inspirational insights. Highly recommended.
Staz reading his own story is great and the interviews mixed with it make it even more enjoyable.
