About this listen

Ian Bridges works as a hitman and is on permanent stand-by for West End gangster John Broad. He does maybe three or four jobs a year and spends the rest of his life desperately trying to find Mrs Right so he can settle down, but can't and it feels like the world is conspiring against him. He's about to find out he's right.

Superb

Laugh, I have never laughed so much out loud! This book is a real trip though the trails and tribulation of a gangster.. very lock, stock. Brilliant narration.

SO FUNNY!!!

This book was incredibly enjoyable to listen to. I found myself putting my headphones on whenever I could so I could hear what happens next to Ian. It's cleverly written, but you also feel a great deal of empathy for the various characters in the story. I like the narrator, Dave John, too. He sounds just like an East End gangster. Thoroughly recommended.

Another amazing audiobook

I absolutely love the diaries series and this one didn’t disappoint. The narration was perfect and sounded just like a gangster hitman would sound like.

Danny King has some imagination for these stories which are philosophical, funny and human

Now onto The Burglar Diaries

A Brilliant Read

I strongly recommend The Hitman Diaries to anybody who likes comedy with a dark twist. This brilliant action packed book by Danny King kept me entertained from beginning to end and Dave John's narration of this book was simply fantastic.

Funny AF but brutal

I read this book as a teen and loved every page of it, it got me to read all the rest in the series (they're good too) . I've now in my mid twenties gone back to them and have a listen this time and they're just as funny now as they were then!
cracking narration too, I think he might actually be the hitman

Excellent and funny read

Not quite as good as the Burglar diaries, but still a very good read, most enjoyable, easy going, but with a serious side to some of it. Plenty of action. It kept my attention really well.

Enjoyable, flowing and gripping!

If you don't like swearing then don't get this - just a fair warning. As that doesn't bother me then I thought the story and narrator were both excellent. The book has a really good pace - it's never boring and keeps you gripped to the end. It's not at all like a diary as the title suggests. A love story that blokes will like with plenty of twists and turns - a highly recommended listen!

Worth a listen

I read Danny King a while ago and thought that I’d give this a go, I enjoyed it and laughed out loud many times.
