Superb
An excellent detailed summary of the events and issues before, during and after the Holocaust, that helps the understanding of events and consequences whilst briefly covering the complex historiography.

Expertly Written
What an audiobook. It’s so expertly written and narrated I listened too in one go with a couple of breaks. Glad to add this to my Holocaust collection. Worth the wait ( I pre ordered last year ).

Latest Holocaust research
Excellent book by a well respected historian and expert in the field of Holocaust studies. Really well read, engaging, good pace to the narrative. The last chapter in particular raises some important challenges for Holocaust education.

Great book let down by audio
This is a fascinating and important book. However, it is a terrible shame that it was never checked by a German speaker. Hitler’s project described as a war for “Liebensraum” rather than “Lebensraum” is jarring, to say the least. The mispronunciations are scattered throughout the audio and distract from the narrative’s message. Read this book, don’t listen to it.

Can’t get past the narrator
This is a wonderfully written book. However as an audiobook - it is dire. The narrators dismal pronunciation (hollycost) in the dullest of tones will sadly cause many to overlook the crucially uncomfortable questions this book seeks its readers to pose upon themselves. This is a vital piece of work but the delivery is detrimental to its message. Read, don’t listen.

Dry and boring
I absolutely love history books and am more than happy if some are indepth or wordy or go into lots of detail.
The holocaust is a fascinating subject however the author seems to have found a way to bore the hell out of the reader. This is only 10 hours but there's a fair amount of repetition and "to quote historian [insert historian here'". It's almost like he had to somehow up the word count and didn't seem to have any opinion / research of his own. As such it ends up like you're listening to someone's master's thesis than a book designed for general consumption. The narrator does his best but alas I was defeated and gave up 2 hours in, this must be the first history book I've ever returned for a credit refund. There are countless great books on the holocaust, alas this just isn't one of them.

Written woke progressive professor that compares objections to multiculturalism to straight fascism.
Could not finish. Book makes straight comparison from Trump and the like to the Holocaust while not a word on antisemitism within progressive groups.
