About this listen
With a call from her uncle, Italian restaurant co-owner and investigative journalist Izzie Di Sante agrees to look into the recent murder of an English professor at a nearby college. Izzie is intrigued by the cryptic quotes mailed to the victim and puzzling circumstances. The victim's home has been broken into twice, with no apparent motive or theft, and the grieving widow fears she will be next. Izzie is determined to unearth the missing links and identify the killer.
As Izzie delves deeper into the investigation she uncovers a tapestry of secrets reminiscent of the holes in Chloe's crumpets. Seems she's not only running short on restaurant supplies but also missing critical ingredients in Lashley's murder. Izzie is determined to unearth the missing link and identify the killer.

Just loved it
Just loved it, had to keep listening and also start as soon as I got it. It was really well done and one of the best. The family dynamics work, the mix of investigative journalism and running a business, wedding preparations all gel together plus the narration is absolutely perfect so suited.

Scratch the itch and get this book
I enjoyed this book and think it might be my favourite in the series so far. It was a nice mix of investigative reporting and restaurant drama, all of which kept it entertaining and me listening. I normally prefer it when the author sticks to the mystery side of the story but that is not the case with this book or series. As this is book four in the series and the restaurant side has become as much a part of the series as the mystery has. I like the characters who work well together and have there own rolls to play on both fronts. The mystery was good with lots of layers to unravel and I would have guessed the right killer. I can't wait for the next book and maybe a wedding?
Izzie a retired cop asks her to look in to a murder that happened at a local college he passes by. A teacher was killed and the police have no leads, except some cryptic letters he received. The quotes aren't exactly threatening but it spikes Izzie's interest and she agrees. Especially as it will get her out of the restaurant while she is waiting to hear if they will be given an alcohol licence. The widow knows something but is too sacred to talk and with a protective brother around, Izzie has to tread lightly but too lightly and a killer might just find her first.
I liked the narrator. She has a pleasant pitch of voice and used it well to make the story entertaining.

Great Twisr
I didn’t see the end coming and really enjoyed the whole story. The characters are believable and most are likeable. Looking forward to the next story in the series.
