About this listen
Inspiration for the book:
- This book was inspired by "The Storm on the Sea of Galilee" painting. The painting depicts the bible store: Calming the storm which is one of the miracles of Jesus in the Gospels, reported in Matthew 8:23–27, Mark 4:35–41, and Luke 8:22–25 (the Synoptic Gospels). This episode is distinct from Jesus' walk on water, which also involves a boat on the lake and appears later in the narrative.
- We were also inspired by the song by Randy Travis Three wooden crosses.
- 3The most important inspiration came from my wife, Dale Long, who has her father’s bible and her grandmother’s bible both handed down to her and entrusted her to keep the bibles in the family.
- The Journey Line Series is credited to Lakeside Church in Folsom, CA
About the book:
This is a book on a journey of a book, how the book survived a war in the pocket of a soldier who read the book for comfort. Then the soldier passed the book to the doctor who saved the soldier’s life. The doctor read a chapter of the book every time before going into surgery, looking for the wisdom and a clear vision to save a life. The doctor passed the book down to his nurse who read the chapter...looking for hope and guidance for the family members who went into surgery. The nurse passed the book to a little girl whose mom was in an accident and had to have an energy surgery to save her life. The little girl learned to read the book with the help of her grandfather who explained each chapter and the story behind the meaning of each chapter.
He explained the book is written about a place and time that someday she could visit this location. As the girl grew to be a lady, she did go to the places in the book and witnessed firsthand the places each event took place in the book. The lady was so moved that she told everyone she knew about the book and how each chapter or store gave her hope.
She explained the book to more and more people and as time went on she started a book club so her friends could get together and study the book. At first, they were getting together once a month but each of her friends brought a friend with them to the study group as the crowd grew they started meek once a week on Sunday morning. The group started sharing how the book had changed their life and their kid’s life. As of today, the book has helped millions of people and has been in so many locations I can’t keep track of it any longer.
