Summary

Overflowing with action and humor, The Kill Circle is the next must-hear binge-worthy thriller in the critically acclaimed Cordell Logan mystery series.

When one retired CIA analyst plunges off a cliff in his vintage Porsche, it’s an unfortunate accident. When a second and then a third turn up dead under unusual circumstances, the CIA’s suspicions are confirmed: these men were murdered. All three analysts were once assigned to the same top-secret project: an internal review of the CIA’s own involvement in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. With a Congressional mandate set to go into effect that will require the CIA to release long-secret files, it seems someone will stop at nothing to prevent the public from discovering what really happened that tragic day in Dallas, 1963.

Cordell Logan—veteran pilot, aspiring Buddhist, and former government assassin—has no interest in getting involved in what is swiftly becoming a disturbing conspiracy, even to help out a former colleague. That is, until he meets Layne Sterling, the brilliant CIA agent assigned to the case. Logan and Layne are instantly drawn to one another, but manage to put the case first as they find themselves caught up in a high stakes, high altitude game of cat-and-mouse—one that could destroy them both.

love the narration

The hilarious voice acting really holds an interesting story up. Honestly some of the quips in this I can't imagine in any other voice. The character Mrs Schmullerwitz (if that's how you spell her name) holds the award from me for voice and hilarity - good job Ray Porter. Some real laugh or loud moments.

Story wise it is interesting, I wouldn't say it's the most amazing story, but I would happily listen to more. The writing is amusing, which is what goes so well with my new favourite narrator. I've listened to several authors narrated by Ray Porter and it is what sold me if I'm honest.

Overall, I recommend. A nice crime solve thriller.

Excellent listen

I just love Ray Porter and chose the book due to him. Author is new to me. Therefore, unfortunately I didn’t realise this was the last in a series and listened first! The only problem with this narrator is he’s so wonderfully entertaining that I can’t separate him from the narrative.

I’ve gone back and listened to 1,3,4,5 obviously it’s not ideal because you know the outcomes already but that didn’t really detract from the tension and humour.

I started book 2 but it’s a different narrator so I literally listened to a few lines and stopped. I just couldn’t spoil the series. I’m certain the narrator will be great but for me he won’t be the character I’ve come to love so I may go back to it and think of it as a stand alone book. (Update: I did go to book 2 but just couldn’t listen anymore, even thinking of it as a stand alone, the “character” was just awful and not one I wanted to give my time to.)

Brilliant!

Witty, sarcastic, gripping! And free with the membership! Ray Porter is an absolute legend in his reading and his talent exceeds many other highly popular actors! I really recommend this!! I’m looking forward to the next!

One of the best Ray Potter performance

The story is ok with a witty protagonist, but Ray Potter's performance makes it much more interesting.
