About this listen

A heart stopping crime thriller set in and around London which explores villainy from both sides of the law.

She was a woman, so they thought she'd be easy to kill...

Kaz Phelps is on the run - from the past, from the legacy of her criminal family, from the haunting memories of her murdered lover. The police want her back in jail and her enemies want her dead. While standing by the grave of her gangster brother, Kaz realises she only has one option. To fight back.

Nicci Armstrong was one of the Met's best detectives until personal tragedy forced her to quit. Now she's responsible for the security of the super-rich who use her city as a playground. She is one of the few people Kaz might trust. But Nicci's biggest mistake yet is falling in love with a man she knows is only using her.

Meanwhile, as envious rivals back home plot against him, a Russian billionaire searches for a special gift to keep the Kremlin onside, a disgraced politician dreams of revenge and a Turkish drug baron plots to purge his dishonour with blood.

An amazing end to an amazing series.

Where does The Killer rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's in my top 50 best books, I have thrall enjoyed this trilogy and could not put any of the books down.

What did you like best about this story?

Liked the way everything got tied up and the people who deserved to get there just deserts got it.

What does Lucy Price-Lewis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

she is fantastic at bringing the characters to life and is really emotional when she has to be.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Nicci was saved and Kaz went to visit her at the end.

Any additional comments?

Fantastic trilogy and I hope that we will see more by this author.

Really good listen

I have just listened to all three of the Kas Phelps books and have really enjoyed them. Interesting, exciting, good plot and good characters. Definitely worth listening to.

Brilliant series!

Just disappointed that there isn't more books in the series! Guess I'm going to have to try something else from the author.....🤞

Enjoyable

I have now read all 3 of the Susan Wilkins books about the life of Kaz Phelps and it is really important they are read in order.
The story was good with excellent narration but I was relieved when I had finished it. I felt I needed a break from Kaz and wanted something good to happen to her rather than the constant doom and gloom.
I thought the ending was a bit rushed with no proper explanation.
I would recommend

Great storyline!

This is a great listen. just ignore the ending after chapter 3, it will just hope that you enjoyed the audio book etc. By the time it goes to chapter 4 the story carries on as if nothing has happened, and it doesn't spoil this Great listen. Very well narrated.
