About this listen
Heartbroken and betrayed, I fled the faerie court only to be dragged back by my captor, a dark Fae Prince.
I should have never made a deal with Ruskin.
He's used me before.
Now, he needs me again. The Queen has been doomed to eternal sleep. And I alone can break the spell.
Once she wakes, my work should be done. I can leave and force myself to forget the handsome prince and his brutal yet beautiful court.
Queen Evanthe's return was meant to heal the land, but she's too weak.
It doesn't take long to discover that an iron-soaked curse now haunts this land.
Only by uncovering the sinister plots woven through the court can I break the curse.
I won't be able to do it alone.
Somehow, magic runs through my blood, and every day at court I'm closer to unlocking my true power.
But it's deeply entwined with the Fae Prince. And he's not to be trusted.
Nor can I trust myself around him.
His kisses draw me to him, even as his manipulations threaten to tear us apart.
And I fear the secrets he's keeping could doom us all.

The Kingdom Cursed by Iron
I enjoyed this story, just not quite as much as book 1 which was fantastic. I found Ella a bit too whiney for the first part of the book. Ruskin of course, is fantastic.

Excited for part 3
I really enjoyed the narration - Ash Kingsley voices several characters and I found her performance really engaging.
I like this but not quite as much as book one which was a 4 star review for me. I didn't click with Ella as much this time round and missed the tension between her and Ruskin from book one. That being said I still like how inquisitive she was and the twist on her knowing about the naminai and not Ruskin as I have seen that done the other way round so many times.
I really enjoyed the world building and the mystery surrounding Ella's origins; I think thats why this missed the mark for me a little. I was more interested in the mythology and the courts and preferred that to Ella's back and forth on her feelings. Ruskin was a lot more patience than me! I also missed Destan who I adored in book one and didn't seem as prevalent in book two. I'm interested to see what happens to his character in the next book though after the events of this one.
My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Wow!
Another great book in this series! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Lots of spice and lots of action! Great world building. I can't wait until the next book!!
The narrator has the perfect voice for both the FMC and the MMC, as well as a variety of other characters. The voices keep me in the story.
Note: book ends on a cliffhanger. This is not a standalone book and must be read in sequence.

Wow. Wow. Wow.
This book was incredible. I loved every second of it. Eleanor and Ruskin were so good. I loved the twists and turns in this book. The bad queen that no one suspected. I cannot wait for the next book.
