Summary

Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly, needs a wife - so his sister hands him a list of the very best young ladies on the market. And then, because he refuses to tear himself away from the stables where he trains Arabian racehorses, she invites all those ladies to a house party, along with some other bachelors, of course.

So who will Hugh choose? The Botticelli-esque, enchanting Gwendolyn? The outspoken, delightful Katherine? If he doesn't work fast, he'll lose those ladies to his closest friends, and then where will he look for a wife? Perhaps, just perhaps, toward a lady who's not on a market at all, and would require a great deal of persuading....

Great fun 💝💝💙

For newlyweds and newly betrothed. Entertaining, and better put together than some stories in the series.

Very entertaining

I thoroughly enjoyed the historical introduction that assisted in my understanding of the main characters, early life and their connection to each other.
I found that I was unable to put the story away once I began listening.
Love the clear and vivid descriptions. It was easier to visualise.

Light relief.

Theses are short stories with really no depth to them, but enjoyable none the less.
I enjoyed the first story the best, the second was just a statement, then the third told a tale.
The redeeming character was the sister and her husband, the other secondary characters filled in the gaps.

Light and amusing!

Since this novel tells 3 lovestories there was no great depth to them but I still enjoyed them. Landor's narration was superb as always!

Romantic escapism

I ate this up. Was a great story. A true bit of escapism that left me laughing and stopping in my tracks in anticipation to what would happen next.
Rosalyn Landor is a great narrator and and I also find the novels more enjoyable for the smooth and easy way the story is read.

Highly entertaining

Set at a house party where the Earl of Brialy is going to choose a wife. He has his sister make a list of names of the most eligible women and invited them to the party. Unfortunately for him, each woman is gradually “picked off” by one of his friends before he can make his choice….or so it seems. This is a really enjoyable book, you wouldn’t know it had been written by three different authors, each author writes about a different couple. The writing is so seamless. I absolutely love listening to this book, the narrator is wonderful.

Brilliant

I wondered if the different author styles would break up the story but it flowed well.

very dull

this was an absolute effort to finish. it's set at an 1800th century house party with three different couples that fall in love.... but that's it. there's no obstacles for these couples, no back story's, all the characters but one of the women (Gwen) are very basic and 2D. it's just an absolute effort to get through it.

BIG MISTAKE!

Because of the main name Julia Quinn one is lured in BIG MISTAKE!

It might be her style BUT TIRESOME AND DREARY 😞
