Summary

THE UNDERCOVER COP. Having worked undercover the last ten years, Sean Egan is used to life on the edge. He’s recently infiltrated one of London’s most dangerous criminal gangs, and they’ve just informed him that they want him for a very special job: the daring abduction from police custody of a serial killer known as The Night Creeper.

THE KILLER. Brutally violent yet highly intelligent, The Night Creeper has earned his reputation by torturing five young women to death. Arrested the previous night, he claims that he has a cast-iron alibi for one of the murders, and some highly important information that can prove his innocence – and implicates someone else.

THE POLICEWOMAN. DI Tina Boyd has an instinct for trouble, and a past that continues to haunt her. She was the policewoman who charged The Night Creeper. Now he’s been kidnapped, and it’s Tina’s task to find him. And find him fast, because it’s clear that some very dangerous people want to silence him permanently.

A man, a woman and a sadistic killer. As they race towards a terrifying confrontation only one thing is certain: they’re all going to have to fight very hard just to stay alive.

Great book defo worth a listen!

What did you like most about The Last 10 Seconds?

a realistic and dramatic book from beginning to end!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sean, Tina..... Both brilliant mavericks

Which character – as performed by Paul Thornley – was your favourite?

PT is by far the best narrator ever I only now read books narrated by him! :)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Tina witnessed the wife of the MP blow her own head off! Didnt see that coming!

Any additional comments?

Just another great book from both Author and Narrator... Well done!

Thriller

Simon Kernick does the same thing with all his books from what I can see. They are tightly plotted, with cartoonish baddies and protagonists who are not especially sympathetic either. The narration is top notch and the books never let go until the end.

A great fast moving listen

Another fast moving novel by Simon Kernick a really great listen that has you on the edge of your seat! What I love about Simon's books is that there is always a surprise at the end. I also love Paul Thornley as a narrater so not only is the book good but he is great to listen too. Can't wait for the next one

Engaging

Gripped from outset. A lot of books in this space. Frank Gardners recent novel just has the edge over this one, but not by much and that's high praise believe me. A must read.

Very good but

Some of the speech was hard to hear when driving as it was as if the reader was stepping away from the mic

One roller coaster of a thriller!

From the first sentence your hooked. Then it's one sharp bend after another. Mr. Kernick is still springing new twists until the last five minutes. Great read!

Fast paced and well performed

A strong but flawed female protagonist, a shady conspiracy, plenty of action.

From start to finish I was hooked.

I really wish they would make a TV adaptation of these as
I think it would give The Line of Duty a run for its money
