Summary
Random House presents the audiobook edition of The Life of a Scilly Sergeant by Colin Taylor, read by Kris Dyer.
'Policing is like this everywhere but not everywhere is Scilly.'
Meet Sergeant Colin Taylor. He has been a valuable member of the police force for over 20 years, five of which have been spent policing the 'quiet' Isles of Scilly, a group of islands off the southwestern tip of the Cornish peninsula.
Colin has made it his purpose to keep the streets of Scilly free from anchor thieves, goldfish abductors and other culprits, some drunken, intent on breaking the law. This book is the first-hand account of how he did it.
Coupled with his increasingly popular 'Isle of Scilly Police Force' Facebook page, this book charts the day-to-day trials and tribulations of a small-island police officer, told in a perfectly humorous and affectionate way.

Great read
Absolutely stunning read, thought provoking, funny,, and makes one realise that policemen are human. I loved it.

Love the story but find the narration annoying.
Great story with lots of humour and interesting stories.
Sadly, the narration is poor, the narrator is poorly chosen and over emphasises the narration to the point where it becomes irritating.
It's a shame that Colin Taylor couldn't have narrated this, he would have done far more justice to it than has been done.

A must read
Loved the book. Best thing is I regularly visit the isles of scilly and have had the fortune to meet the sergeant.

Shame about the narrator.
I found it hard to decide if the book was good or not as the narrator’s voice was so off-putting and didn’t seem to suit the writer’s personality at all. Learnt a bit more about Scilly though.
