Summary

The only Regency ever with a hero on the Asperger's Spectrum!

Everyone thinks the Marquess of Hastings is odd. He doesn't really want a wife, but he has to find one. Elisabeth likes books more than men. A marriage of convenience. What can possibly go wrong?

Nowadays the Marquess would probably be described as having Asperger's. He's good-looking and rich, but his lack of social skills make it hard for him to find a much-needed wife. He scandalizes the ton by putting an advertisement in the newspaper describing the type of spouse he requires and the marriage of convenience he envisages. Amazingly, he finds a suitable candidate. Elisabeth is an impoverished gentlewoman with literary aspirations. But can this oddly-assorted pair possibly coexist, let alone find happiness?

This novel is a gently amusing look at an unusual but endearing Regency couple.

Original and Endearing

This was a lovely cosy Regency Romance. The story was well written (& crazily credible), but it takes getting used to the narrative. The author, as narrator, certainly knows how it should be told, however, her voice is not really meant for audio, she sounds as if she’s on the verge of coughing (or needs to clear her throat). It’s disconcerting, a professional narrator would have definitely lifted this story.

I’ll give her next title a try, I note that she had narrated that also…

Delightful

The story is charming- very sweet and gentle. It would have been more enjoyable had it been performed by a professional narrator.
