Gets better the further you go

So well narrated, which for me is key to enjoyment. Second is the premise, then content. Book 1 set the scene if a bit wobbly as if finding it's feet, Book 2 and 3 showed all the key players and had them performing within a police procedural, the personalities hitting and missing the facts as the tales directed.

Started Book 4 only to find it should really be Book 3 as clearly Lonnie Guest from that book left to become a barber, but is still working in Book 4, plus several other inconsistancies in time lines, events and behaviours. Am happy to continue as the stories have now hooked me in.

Good drama, dialogue and interactions. Will probably follow the series to the conclusion unless something majorly silly happens.

Kate now 37 becomes one dimensional as she leaves her lovers behind, dumps the dog, seemingly focussed on just her career.
She assumes the male dominated leadership memes she thinks she is against ie pigeonholing her younger female partner, being condescending and dismissive. Her only friend now are the bottles of red wine.

ENTERTAINING
