A BBC Radio 4 full cast dramatisation of the second adventure in C. S. Lewis' classic Narnia series.
When Lucy comes across the old wardrobe standing alone in the spare room, she thinks she has found a good place for hide and seek. But then she tumbles headlong into a magical world of fauns, dwarves, and giants, of animals that talk and horses that fly: the land of Narnia.
It is so extraordinary that, at first, her brothers and sister don't believe it can be real.

still good more than 10 years later
A Great audio book for children (and adults!!) i had this as a child on cassette, and bought it again as a 21 year old. As with all radio 4 productions the dramatisation is faultless. In my opinion this is a great first audio book, as well as the best first C.S Lewis. the storyline is fantastic, brilliant dialogue too.

Loved the book so had high expectations. Uncle Andrews voice over is a little annoying. The music was also very loud in comparison to the story voices.
As a whole I enjoyed the story and it's great for kids

simply gorgeous
I would certainly recommend this book, to any story loving person (be they child or grown-up). The story is compelling, the overall performance is delightful. The narrator (old man's voice) sometimes slurs a little (in words like 'ages'), the children's voices are clear and their performance is convincing. Very like all Narnia-audibles.
