About this listen

A tip-off about a mysterious house near Mallaig tempts DI Gavin McKay to set up surveillance. His boss becomes a suspect, and he has to pretend to shut down his investigation, but the subsequent death of his informant and trust issues within his office make him determined to continue.

When McKay is tasked with finding the identity of a woman washed up on an island off the coast of Scotland suffering from amnesia, he uses this as a way of continuing digging.

The mystery deepens when a link is made between the woman and the house in Mallaig. Bombs, blackmail, and more are revealed as he delves into how his boss is connected. Romance blossoms between the woman and the doctor who rescues her and puts McKay back in touch with an old flame. Can he trust them to keep the woman safe while he completes his investigation?

Dreadful narration spoilt a good story

This was one of the worse narrators I have heard in my time using Audible.
Failed completely to add any atmosphere to the story or bring the characters to life. One I shall definitely avoid in the future.

appalling narration - ruins the story

I had to give this up after 2 chapters and only listened that far in the hope it would improve. it didn't. this is totally the wrong narrator for this book. The are plenty great Scottish narrators. The Scottish accents of this narrator are so bad they grate on the ears. If the author decides to write a series on this character then PLEASE, PLEASE get another narrator.
I had to buy the Kindle edition to finish the story. This edition is being returned.

I would think the narrator was reading a child a bed time story.Sadly, the writing and performance of this book was very child like.Did not enjoy
