Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
A novel from Eve Chase, author of The Glass House and The Birdcage.
A glittering family. A Notting Hill house. Step into their secrets...
Notting Hill, London. Lou Parker's famous mother walks out of their pink front door and doesn't return home by midnight, or the midnight after... Looking after her little brother, trying to piece together where their mother might be, Lou ventures into a different world - far from the fancy terraces - filled with ramshackle antique shops, shadowy figures. A place where time seems to have stopped. And Lou must protect her brother. At all costs.
Twenty-one years - 7665 midnights - later. The new owner of a Notting Hill house starts excavating a basement, oblivious to what might lie beneath. While in a writer's Saint-Germain apartment, a mobile phone rings...and the clock starts ticking again.
Sweeping from vibrant London streets to the boulevards of Paris to an old English country house, The Midnight Hour is a story about the dark secrets hidden within a golden family - and a woman desperately trying to turn back the hands of time before it's too late.

Not her best but good read
As with the other Eva Chase books, this is a well-written and riveting “pageturner” where you keep on listening as the plot twists and turns. But compared to her previous books, I think the plot of this one is more superficial and even somewhat predictable towards the end, and the characters less engaging and more stereotypical. But still definitely worth spending time and credits on, if you want an entertaining late summer listen.

Eve does it again!
Eve Chase has a real feel for her characters, they are all enthralling.
This book is filled with the uneasy unfolding of a mystery. Classic Chase, she weaves the story of Maggie and Kit with a delicate hand. So clever and So brilliant. Eve, if you read this. Thanks for another captivating story. I am addicted!

I loved this audio book that took me a few chapters to really get involved with the story but then found difficult to stop listening.

Outstanding, beautifully crafted story,
Masterfully crafted story dealing with the subject that Eve Chase does so well - family/families - over a dual time line. Skilfully executed and superb story line. I always enjoy books by this author, can highly recommend.

Plot
I enjoyed this. Good plot and character arcs that develop. The narration was superb and I loved journeying through London through different eras
