An imprisoned father,
An eight-year-old clue,
And a wild hunt,

This was an easy to read book
This was an easy to read book on what it is like to cope with a loved one that is battling with substance abuse. A great perspective from someone that has lived and gone through this herself.

The book is a great little book
The book is a great little book that is a children's version of the longer book. I believe the targeted age is about 10 and older, but don't let the word "children" fool you...I think anyone, any age could read and enjoy this book! That being said, I think that Larsen did a great job at taking some deeper plot issues and making them easier to read and understand for a 10-year-old. Fantine, for example, was done really well. I think my kids could read this section and understand the sacrifice that she was making, without having to know some of the nitty gritty details.

great
This book is for those who are looking for an interesting glimpse at a little known historical figure and don't mind giving the story a chance to breathe before the action picks up.I’m excited to attend my book club meeting to discuss this incredible story.

gorgeous drama
An amazing and moving story set in a spectacular period of history - but how I struggled with the narration.

Great drama
There is so much more to this than the film or stage show. I urge everyone to have a go at this one

heart touching
I feel the narrater could have done a better job over all but this could be due to the length of the book.
