Summary

Jason West and Sam Kennedy are back!

All those late night conversations when Sam had maybe a drink too many or Jason was half falling asleep. All those playful, provocative comments about what they'd do when they finally met up again.

Well, here they were.

The last thing Jason West, an ambitious young FBI Special Agent with the Art Crimes Team, wants - or needs - is his uncertain and unacknowledged romantic relationship with irascible legendary Behavioral Analysis Unit Chief Sam Kennedy.

And it's starting to feel like Sam is not thrilled with the idea either.

But personal feelings must be put aside when Sam requests Jason's help to catch a deranged killer targeting wealthy, upscale art collectors. A killer whose calling card is a series of grotesque paintings depicting the murders.

Monet Shot

Excellent 2nd installment of this series perfectly narrated. Josh Lanyon writes such concise well scripted MCs, who fit so well into the drama their occupations produce, orated to create such clever different voices for the contrasting MCs. No room for stupid, or facile, no shanigans or trite. Every scene is set perfectly, where less is definitely more, leaving you so hungry for more when you get to the end of the book.

EXCELLENT

Wow, I love it!

This time around we got a little more of Sam & Jason relationship <3

Although this is a 5 star listen to me, I did not enjoyed so much as the first book. The romance have a little more space and we got to see the struggle of their relationship. They were flirting for 8 months trough phone calls and texts when finally they have a case overlapping their paths.

This time they didn't work together together, there ar two different investigations: a murder and an art forgery. The investigation was a little different from the first, it didn't have that suspense and unease and mystery the first one had, but it was still a little unsettling when they arrive at the island. I think Jason's job is a little boring if comparing with serial killers investigations. But one think I did like a lot here, is the author didn't solve one of the investigations, showing that not everything can be solved as in the movies. Don't worry, the murders investigation is solved though ;)

Kale Williams... Oh but I fell in love with your voice <3 I'll repeat what I said in the first book: His voice is so beautiful, soothing, deep. And he has this ability to make the voices so distinct, it amazed me. He speaks a little slow, but I just speed up a few seconds and was good to go. He also does all the right pauses. Overall, he did an spectacular job with this series!

This audiobook was given to me in exchange of my honest review.
