Summary

If your life hung by a thread, how far would you go, and what lines would you cross, simply to survive?

When Malina is sold at an auction block, she fears life will take a turn for the worse.

But even her darkest nightmares are nothing compared to the reality of what she faces when she's delivered to the Mountain of Souls.

Thrust into a brutal selection process where failure means death, Malina must train and fight not only to survive, but to prove herself worthy to serve.

The risks are deadly, but if she succeeds, the rewards are beyond measure, and a destiny unlike any other awaits as one of the Chosen.

The Chosen series is a thrilling and intricately spun epic fantasy that weaves a relentless fight for survival into a tapestry full of conquest, deception, magic, and an ancient prophecy that will determine the fate of the human race.

really good story but bit long for me

it's a very interesting story I enjoyed it. Listening to it in segments was best. The opening chapter will grab you even though it's a little gruesome, fair bit of death, and it shows the story of Melaina and comrade's become chosen, it does the usual eb and flow of fantasy one minute action then lulls and picks up again, it's not my usual type of listening but the narrator was good, just the style was something I'm not used to and when Melaina described something she loved her reflection in her voice got a little bit to cutsie for me, but over not bad looking forward to the development of the story and what this once and future king "Hogarth" is about. we shall see.

Distracting sound effects, and crackling noise in one chapter

Narrator was mostly good, but although I liked the sample it took me a good while getting used to her reading style.
