About this listen
Believe in witches? If not, you may want to rethink it.
As Miranda settles into her new role as a paranormal investigator, her mother, Eve, takes a back seat on their newest case.
Proving she’s capable of filling her mother’s shoes may be troublesome, however, when Miranda senses that what they're dealing with isn't your typical, everyday paranormal, but something altogether different.
People in the area are disappearing at an alarming rate, and Miranda has to act fast. But with her mother acting strangely, things heating up between her and the alpha male, Jesse, plus her odd pull to Police Chief Jack Winslow, Miranda starts to feel as if she's going in circles. Good thing she has her Corgi dog, Hank, to help.
This is the second book in the Miranda Riley Paranormal Cozy Mystery Series. The first one had over 40 five-star reviews in two weeks!

Harman and Logan give us another hit!
Ms. Harman comes up with the most weird paranormal stories that you know she has quite the imagination. Ms. Logan takes the story and runs with it making it interesting and funny. As long as you don't believe in the paranormal you will enjoy these funny little stories about the creatures that roam the earth.

Paranormal investigation
I love cosy mysteries but I enjoy them even more when they have a super natural twist to the plot because anything can happen. Having listened to a number of Dianne Harman's mysteries I was pleasantly surprised to see that she had branched out to write a witchy mystery. This is not your normal witch story though, the main character might have only just discovered that werewolves and witch's are real but despite becoming heavily involved in the magic community as she takes over as a private investigator from her mum, she has no powers of her own. She still has to keep everything secret from the humans and tries to come up with ways of explaining some very real monster encounters. Miranda is very like able and modern and I loved the way she turned to Google for help with dealing with the monster and helping her solve the mystery. Of course you have the love interest which keeps you guess as to who she will choose the human Sheriff Jack or the werewolf Jessie. Can't wait to find out.
When people start to disappear and the only witnesses left behind are talking about monsters Miranda and her mum are called in to help the sheriff. But Eve has other ideas and steps back letting Miranda take lead on the case. If so many abductions Miranda soon sees a pattern and it is not long before she is on the trail of another mythical creature but will she find the humans alive and before it's to late?
I liked the narrator and thought she did a good job with the many different voices in the story.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
