"The longing to be with her."
Not really stories at all, The Palace of Winds contains twenty mins heartfelt meditations on love, almost all from a males perspective - love longed for, enjoyed, lost - often combined with a sense of guilt, of futility, loneliness and sadness. The exceptions are Black Iris (5) and He and I (28), more contemplative over lost love, but both from a female viewpoint. Each brief vignette is well crafted, sometimes thought provoking, always sad. Each felt true, emotions experienced, the longings beautiful though it woul have been pleasant to have included at least a single contemplation of love found, reciprocated and sustained. But perhaps the author cannot feel this possibility.
Narration was by Craig Randall Nickerson, who read with sensitivity, his performance nicely paced with good intonation despite the underlying sadness. He was a fine choice to carry this work.
My thanks to the rights holder who, at my request freely gifted me with a complimentary copy. It was unexpected, musings, it seemed, of a man lonely after the loss of his own romantic aspirations, and should appeal to all who have loved and lost.

An entertaining set of short poems and stories
An entertaining set of short poems and stories with a central theme. Well written, some were stronger than others but overall and enjoyable set. The narration was good if a little stilted in parts. I received a complimentary copy from the author and am leaving a honest voluntary review

Loved the narration of Craig Randall Nickerson
Amazing collection of stories of love, rejection, joy, friendship, and unrequited love. The stories feel like they come from the heart and true experiences.
