Summary
Classic Taoist wisdom applied to the world of parenting, guiding mothers and fathers to meaningful conversations and relationships with their children.
William C. Martin has freshly reinterpreted the Tao Te Ching to speak directly and clearly to the most difficult of modern tasks—parenting. With its combination of free verse and judicious advice, The Parent's Tao Te Ching addresses the great themes that permeate the Tao and that support loving parent-child relationships: responding without judgment, emulating natural processes, and balancing between doing and being.
This title is skillfully narrated by Mike Fraser, an Audible listener favorite. Listeners of Parent's Tao Te Ching may also enjoy the audio editions of Couple's Tao Te Ching and Sage's Tao Te Ching, also narrated by Mike Fraser. This audiobook includes a selection of brief teachings from the author.

Refreshing and inspiring
I’ve been interested in the Tao Te Ching for a long time and read different versions, so as a father of two young children I was naturally attracted to this. It didn’t disappoint! Even though I (thought I) knew the Tao Te Ching, Martin’s interpretation and commentary on this timeless wisdom made it feel as if I was hearing it for the first time. He makes this ancient advice for living relevant to a modern parent, with practical suggestions and down to earth anecdotes. I feel like a better father already and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
