Summary

Broad-shouldered US military operative Michael Bekker was looking forward to his first field assignment with the CIA. But while hunting a source of terrorist funding in Baghdad, the new mission goes suddenly, horribly wrong. Blamed for an explosion that he barely escapes, Bekker’s life is shattered: He’s drummed out of the military, loses his dream girl, and is framed for a murder he didn’t commit.

Now on the run, his only shot at freedom is to accept a covert op to stop a biological weapons lab in the country of his birth: war-torn Ukraine. Is Michael Bekker truly the “perfect instrument” to prevent bio-weapons from exploding the region’s civil crisis into a full-blown global conflict? Can he unravel the international conspiracy exploiting innocent victims of war in time to save himself or the ones he loves?

The story is not just about action and adrenaline. It is about people - what they feel, how they react to certain situations. It is about relationships. It is about different cultures. It is about right and wrong. Readers and listeners who are looking for a pure action book could find it boring or extended. The story is about anyone - even about you, a normal person - who is out of luck in his or her life and feels that there's no control over the situation and how, if it is possible, to get it right and make sense of your own life. What do you need to make it happen? Is it your friend? Is it your faith? Is it your internal strength? Is it your desire? Is it luck? Is it all together?
