Worth a listen
Quite a good story, well worth a listen. Their romantic encounters are steamy & well written.

Performance
Having listened to Simon Prebble’s narration of earlier Cynster novels, I felt this performance failed to live up to his. The narrator didn’t have the expression, pace (too fast and slower speed too hesitant), and skill to differentiate between the narrative and more romantic scenes.

Not worth the money
The abridgment ruined the story almost as much as the narrator who made the hero sound like a high-pitched boy. Most disturbing during what was supposed to be sensual scenes.

Glad it's abridged - less to listen to!
As others have said, appalling narration. It's about as good as it would be if I read it to myself..! The story was ok, but perhaps spoiled by the abridgement, it's hard to tell with the poor narration. Come back Simon Prebble, all is forgiven!

made me realise how important the narrator is. .
bland narration. prefer to read the book in this instance. a great shame. others by Simkn Prebble brought to life. this was just reading words in the book with little intonation.

Disappointed
Story was as always good. Really do not like the pointless music between chapters. Totally pointless interruptions.

Disappointing
Badly abridged. In places the story simply didn’t make sense and the humour was missing.

disappointing
The abridging removes most of the humour and all the subtle nuances of the evolving relationships and the reasons for a lot of the decisions made by the characters. If you have not read the original book it might be quite good but for me it had lost everything interesting.
