Summary

Celebrating 25 Years as a New York Times Bestseller — Over 16 Million Copies Sold

It’s no wonder that The Power of Now has sold over 16 million copies worldwide and has been translated into over 30 foreign languages. Much more than simple principles and platitudes, the book takes readers on an inspiring spiritual journey to find their true and deepest self and reach the ultimate in personal growth and spirituality: the discovery of truth and light. In the first chapter, Tolle introduces listeners to enlightenment and its natural enemy, the mind. He awakens readers to their role as a creator of pain and shows them how to have a pain-free identity by living fully in the present. The journey is thrilling, and along the way, the author shows how to connect to the indestructible essence of our Being, “the eternal, ever-present One Life beyond the myriad forms of life that are subject to birth and death.” Featuring a new preface by the author, this paperback shows that only after regaining awareness of Being, liberated from Mind and intensely in the Now, is there Enlightenment.

Present Moment Awareness

This book opens the door and gives a glimpse of a world I had not experienced since childhood. That of living in the present moment. A beautiful but very indepth read.

I now live in the present

Would you listen to The Power of Now again? Why?

This was recommended to me as a book I should read. I am glad I did.
The book explains how we rush about in our daily lives, earning money and supposedly living. But how often do you sit and think about what you are doing 'now'.
I have learned to enjoy living in the 'now'
To listen to the sounds of nature and actually see nature growing.
There is so much beauty around us.
I would listen to the book again, if only to remind me, if I should forget, to live in the 'now'

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Power of Now?

The most memorable part was actually realising that I can listen and be in the present and it is peaceful and calm.

What about Eckhart Tolle’s performance did you like?

Eckhart's voice is calming. He pauses several times to allow you to take in what he is saying.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I listened to this book in 2 days. When the author told me to enjoy the moment, to listen, feel and taste the now, I felt that my life is suddenly going to be richer in experiences.
This has proved to be so in many experiences since.

Eckhart Q&A

This is a powerful and inspiring question and answer session with a true spiritual teacher. I enjoyed every minute of this audio book and have listened to it several times. The message is awe inspiringly simple but trying to put it into practice will be a life's work.

Magnificent book!!! Life changer!!!

English is not my native language, therefore I was glad I could change speed to 0.75 so I could catch all the unknown for me words and ask Google to tell me the mea meaning.

Anyway, this book let me understand myself and other people. I've put in practice a lot of things straight away but still a lot to train. It help me to deal with the worse situations in my life... My nightmares. I did listen quite long as not always I had power to listen to absorb all meaningful words. I was reverse it one fragment sometimes times even several times to deeply understand it. It worked for me.

Definitely I will come back to this book again.

I'm very greatful 🙏 💚💫

Excellent listen

This book was suggested to me and I approached it with trepidation.

I'm not a big fan of these types of titles, but I wanted to give it a go.

It's very useful material for being in the moment and while it says spiritual enlightenment on the front, it's rarely referred to and this makes it more accessible to people who like me approach this genre with caution.

So good, that I've read a second title by Eckhart Tolle.

The narration is calming and provides simple ideas and approaches to being present. It's also a useful meditation tool, and sometimes, you can drift off to his voice and that isn't a bad thing in this case, because he has by this point successfully developed a relationship with the reader.
