About this listen
The Foxes are a fractured mess, but their latest disaster might be the miracle they've always needed to come together as a team. The one person standing in their way is Andrew, and the only one who can break through his personal barriers is Neil.
Except Andrew doesn't give up anything for free, and Neil is terrible at trusting anyone but himself. The two don't have much time to come to terms with their situation before outside forces start tearing them apart. Riko is intent on destroying Neil's fragile new life, and the Foxes have just become collateral damage.
Neil's days are numbered, but he's learning the hard way to go down fighting for what he believes in, and Neil believes in Andrew even if Andrew won't believe in himself.

Awesome!
A very difficult story with toxic relationships and hard themes, but the narrator was amazing as always!

wildly more violent than expected. check tws for this before going ahead blindly.
if the narrator could just knock off the accents with specific characters, I'd have no notes for his performance. but I do unfortunately. KNOCK OFF THE ACCENTS. IM SORRY. DONT DO IT.
the story is bonkers though. love Neil's character arc, love Andrew's as well. make sure to at least read until the banquet, getting Neil's "you know what? I get it" speech is worth everything until there.

fabulous.
not 100% on Andrews voice but loved it. Defo worth a read or listen. I have been enjoying the books so given the voice version a try and well worth it.

Interesting
I enjoyed this book. The whole revelation with Andrew just broke my heart. I really like how the story feel like it was progressing naturally. The only thing that I would say was a downside was the lack of time spent on Neil's experience with the Ravens but I suppose that'll be explored in the next book. Overall, enjoyable listen.

Book 2 of 3
reread 09/04/2022 Raising the rating on this one too. Most of my original review stands true. I dunno how to get this series out my head and I really don't wanna. Leave me to my problematic children.
TRIGGER WARNINGS IN THIS BOOK; everything. (Abuse, rape, self harm, assault, blood, murder, use of the "R" word) I didn't like The Foxhole Court at all. In fact I was close to DNF-ing it. And for a time I was feeling this was going to be the same. But I actually enjoyed it way more than the first book.
Some parts of this book were brutal. I actually felt sorry for Andrew, who hitherto been an actual malfunctioning sociopath. You even feel bad for Kevin Day and possibly find out why he went to the Foxhole Court in the first place.
I feel like the third book could go one of two ways. But I'll try to read it anyway to see which it is.

A captivating story
I adore these characters! Listened to these books over and over again. The narration is perfect with each character having a distinct voice and personality. This series has become a favourite.

I wish I skipped this book
There should be a trigger warning. I was not ready for the rape scene neither all the abuse. There was also still no romance. and the story still felt uneventful although so much happened.
And for some reason it was so so so repetitive. Especially in the first chapters. I haven't felt so silly since reading picture books. They re introduced all the characters constantly and it felt like this was a stand alone book instead the second part of a trilogy. Like If the first book did not matter at all.
In my opinion this book should not exist. This whole trilogy could be just a single book. It feels so episodic and so much like a sick fanfiction.
I finished within a day.
Up until the rape scene the book was fine. After that it because too overwhelming. I wish I'd never read it. I'm so sure that the next one will recup everything that happened in the previous ones anyway. like the writer does not trust their readers to remember.
I feel sick to my stomach.
Do not read this unless you are over 18.
Too much drama for no reason. So sick.
The performance and writing somewhat improved though. But it was unforgivably repetitive.
