She really had me crying so hard here.

Oh she's has done it again and I'm not even a little surprised. Kristy hooked me on the first read and honestly every book since has been another favourite, this one is certainly no different.

I kinda (not really) but maybe a little hated her for making me cry so soon into the story. When I tell you I balled. I was a MESS. A snivelling couch potato to be accurate. Lordy it was emotional. And I wasn't sure how the heck she was going to spin this journey from that point. Now don't misinterpret me... I knew full well she'd do it and make me love it. I just wasn't sure how.

It's safe to say Astor and Keagan's journey was a rollercoaster. It's emotional, impactful and at times heartwrenching but it's also so beautiful in a way that felt real and raw and comes full circle.

Astor had me sold. Man I love me a broken man with a hero complex and this man had that without even knowing it. He's all gruff, grumpy and arrogant but he's also so kind and generous and just real. Life wasn't all rainbows and neither were his emotions but I loved that about his character. He just felt real and man the man had a sinful mouth. I mean .... I couldn't not mention it.

Keagan is a favourite for me. I loved her prickly biting nature she had contructed around herself like a damn fortress. She's my favourite kind of character... the kind that has layers and depth and genuinely grows through the story realistically and flourishes. She has lost so much in her young life and despite what her mouth might spit out, her actions speak an entirely different story. She's sweet and genuine and honestly went above and beyond in a time where she could of fallen apart. I feel like she had so much strength and courage and that just spoke to me as a character.

I love these two together. Man they annoyed eachother to the extreme whilst simultaneously revving eachothers engines. It was hilarious, a little bit dysfunctional and a whole lot of emotional. But the whole time I felt it with them. They fit together perfectly, pushed eachother in ways that no one else could and they thrived in that bubble. It was meant to be and it felt like that.
Despite the truly heartbreaking beginning and the turbulent emotional journey through their story... I never questioned them being together because it felt right. The chemistry is insane and the connection a bond that truly became unbreakable.

Their beginning wasn't ideal but it made them, them.

I truly lived for the banter, bickering and teasing like they'd been married for forty years. I died at the ridiculous situations they found themselves. They just gave me life and made me feel the whole way. And I adore the brothers and the rest of the characters that are slowly peaking in along the way.
This story is bursting with great characters, a whole lot of emotion and an ending that made me cry so hard my other half thought I was having a break down.

It was happy tears but still. EMOTIONAL.

The Refiner is a fabulous addition to this series and my favourite yet though I will certainly save my final answer until we have all these handsome crazy broody brothers first.

Now listening to the story is always a much different experience than reading and that fact remains here. Heather and Jason did a phenomenal job of connecting this story, Keagan and Astors journey to us the readers in a way that reading can't. it's one thing to imagine their voices but to hear it truly is something else. especially given the emotional nature of this journey. I cried so hard so much I had to take breaks then give up and dedicate a time when I knew I wouldn't be busy and could just sit and listen. it was the safest option. but it was worth waiting for!. it didn't matter that I knew the story because it felt like the first time all over again.
what a listen it was!!.

This is the read for all those who love to cry in books.
It's so good I promise you won't be disappointed.
