About this listen

Avalon St. Andrews has endured Hell and war in an attempt to secure freedom and immortality for his people. Raised and conditioned to be both warrior and leader, he now sits on a throne with his sister Eden, governing the Kingdom in peace. While his people enjoy the benefits of his struggle and loss, he is restless, bored and alone.

Avalon is summoned to fight in order to save his people once more as the Kingdom is threatened by a brand new evil. In addition to reigning in a kingship he doesn't want, he is fighting against the very people he has fought so hard to protect. They are determined to throw away their newfound freedom and their newfound leaders.

In this war and in this kingship he feels alone. And for the first time he feels hollow. That is until Amelia Cartier shows up, invading his every thought and shaking up his carefully controlled world.

Now he faces yet another battle - making Amelia his queen.

Bit of a let down

What's a shame the narrator was changed to a man who read the female part as though each character was an uber bitchy drag queen . The inflection in his voice could have changed so much. A bit of a let down.

a little harder to get into

I found it harder with this one as I was used to characters from the previous books and the mald voice in this took some getting used to so I found it much harder to get into to be honest hoping book 5 is better

Great storyline. Worth a read.

Loved the storyline. But I have to say it rankled a bit that they had changed the narrator. As good as he was, and it makes sense as the story is told from Avalons point of view, the female voices made me laugh. He sounded like the Wayans brothers in White Chicks. I am really enjoying this set of books. of course you can pick the occasional hole in the storyline, but I have to say, I love it. next book downloading now....

Bit of a let down

Book 1.2&3 with Eden and Kieran’s story had you gripped nearly from the start and plenty of story nig just about Eden and Kieran relationship. However this book not much story line in it at all and the Avalon and Amelia story bit boring too nothing like first 3 books. It was like you keep waiting for the story to evolve but it doesn’t and nothing much would be missed if you just skip this one other than Avalon getting together with Amelia . Also if said bailey was narrating aswell but she didn’t do any chapters much prefer her to the male even for the male characters voices .

Not for me

I loved this series until this book and although I did listen to the rest of the series - because they were free and hoped they would return to the same standard as the earlier books in the series - sadly this book and the later ones, were a let down for me.

A bit of a let down

Book 1 felt a little like Harry Potter in the beginning with 4 different immortal species but then the stories took over in 2 & 3.
Book 4 was read by a male voice which took a little getting used too for the characters I had become to know. It was about the brother so went with it.
The story line had a huge potential of being the best yet and it just didn’t go anywhere.
Too many chapters of Avalon just kissing Amelia - really, come on, we wanted the story too.
Thank goodness that I’ve come late to these books as I don’t think I would have bothered waiting for book 5.
Give this book a MISS and move straight to book 5 as I’m sure you will be caught up with the new villain & more kissing of Avalon and Amelia.

No means no

This whole story seems to revolve around a man’s inability to understand that when a woman says no she means it - made me feel pretty sick throughout.

this book don't live up to the previous ones

let's all talk about the fact that if Amelia was 11/12 on the previous book and this one is 3 years after , she's now 14/15
so this is a story of a 20s years old man trying to conquer and take advantage of a underage girl that had a child crush on him
constant total disregard of consent , misogynistic views , lying and manipulating to get what he wants
is quite gross actually .
totally ruin the character of Avalon for me , who I was fond of before

the narration of the female voices is not great and sounds nearly mocking

the plot is quite poor and repetitive , don't get anywhere

just terrible overall

Just trash

You get to hear Avalon’s thoughts. They are misogynistic trash. Constant misogynistic trash. Only listen to this if you want to get furious. Or if you share his views.

Bad

I gave up, so tired of the manly man og girly girl tropes, and tired of waiting for a story that sadly devolved into so many scenes of kissing and romance clichés. I liked the narration better than the previous books. The best thing about this book, was that the narrator actually got it right when reading “couldn’t care less”. In previous books the narrator read “could care less”. Skip this one.
