Kate wasn’t expecting a proposal, but when Rob pushed the small velvet box across the table how could she not get her hopes up? Those hopes dashed by a pair of pearl earrings, Kate decides it’s time to hit reset on her life. This time next year, she’ll have the life, job, relationship of her dreams. But then Rob drops a bombshell: he wants to move to America, for work, and without Kate. Shattered and heart-broken, her mum’s “there’s still time, if you get a move on”, her best friend Sonia’s engagement news, and – best of all – her seven-year-old niece Ottilie’s thoughtful suggestion that “Auntie K could borrow Daddy to be the daddy for her baby” do not make her feel better…
Leaving the pieces of her old life behind, Kate retreats to her sister’s ramshackle farm, where handsome handyman Dan is a welcome distraction. But it soon becomes apparent that underneath the idyllic surface, not all is as it appears at the farm – and whilst Kate didn’t go there looking for a new beginning, she might not be the only one to find one…

Refreshingly funny!
I really enjoyed The Reset and found it refreshingly funny with an engaging story and great characters. I enjoyed the narration also and would recommend.

A fabulous and funny story, beautifully told!
I loved this warm, funny story about Kate, a highly relatable woman in her thirties who realises she deserves so much more from life than she’s currently getting and decides to take her future firmly into her own hands. This is an inspiring tale for anyone who wants to laugh, smile and maybe make a dramatic change to their own life. Great narration by Jessica Barden as well.

Expectations didn't meet reality: not very rom, definitely not a com
Maybe because of the direction the performance was taken in (A director's choice? Very very VERY dry humour?) I didn't get any comic vibes at all. Much more of a story of a woman finding herself, experiencing low self esteem, family dynamics. I quite enjoyed it once I got past the first third and my expectations that the book summary gave; if I hadn't expected a romcom, maybe I would have enjoyed it more. Could have done with a bit more space for the romance to develop.

Lovely, easy listen
Really enjoyed this - made me smile. Lovely way to pass a long journey. I'll look out for more from this author.
