Summary

As the Chosen lie broken, defeated or dead, the Once and Future King with his legions stand victorious. The promised golden age of humankind is instead a ruin filled with despair. Kingdoms burn, destroyed by lies, misdirection and a plan a thousand years in the making.

At the centre of it all stands Malina. Stripped of her love, humanity and hope, both betrayer and betrayed, she continues her desperate struggle against the encroaching darkness.

For despite losing everything, Malina is driven to face her nemesis again by thoughts of revenge, a thirst for blood, and a desire to save the world she helped condemn. With such a mission before her, just one thing is certain.

Only the strong will survive.

loved this series

I started this series not really sure what it was about i saw a picture on Facebook and a caption and thought go on then I'll give this a listen. having now finished the whole series of three books I can hand on heart say I loved this journey it was amazing world building and thrilling characters and fast paced story I didn't want it to finish. and oh boy what an end. I would seriously recommend this author and series it does cover quite gruesome subject matter at points not going to lie but it is part of the story of Melina the assassin and ling slayer and without it the story wouldn't be the same. this series is a thinker and what questions that come up do get resolved at the end, but I still have more 😂, I'd say be aware of any triggers you may have before starting these books as there are difficult subjects and lots of death, and I'd say you should be 18+ to read or listen to this series. Other than that well done Marcus Lee you've created an amazing Fantasy series and I'm so glad I listened to this story. If my eyesight was better I think the books would of been even more special to read, but as it is the narrator is phenomenal and did a fantastic job with the audiobook 5 stars plus
