Grace's mother makes a decision that painfully complicates the action and drives it forward. Grace, her family and friends and the Amish milieu are drawn with characteristically ample detail, right down to jars of preserves set out on the tables at many bountiful Amish meals. food for thought

this is a great way of introducing different ways of approaching the tricky situations life presents us and how we can journey with truth and reconcilliation.
I look forward to watching the characters introduced in this first book interweave and journey together over time
