Mario Puzo
About this listen
The sequel to Puzo's epic and brutal Mafia classic The Godfather. Once again Puzo brings the history of the Corleone family to life.
Michael Corleone's exile in Sicily is ending, but on the instructions of his father, The Godfather, he must bring back to him the young man known as Salvatore Giuliano - if he can find him.
At sea amid the treacheries of a brutal and unfamiliar land, Michael must find a way through the labyrinthine deceits that surround him while Giuliano prepares himself for a final confrontation with Don Croce, capo di capi of the Sicilian Mafia.
A novel of explosive suspense, heroic action - and evil on an epic scale.
In the hands of Mario Puzo's brilliantly sinister talent, the listener comes to know again the terrible magic of the Mafia.

Good story, fair narrator, horrendous voice acting
The story is pretty good, it's very good actually. Recommended - although in the interests of honesty, not as highly as its outstanding prequel The Godfather. For those who have just finished The Godfather and are eager to crack onto 'book 2', this isn't exactly a sequal so much as a sort-of-linked parallel. It's a great story all the same and give it a go but consider the paper version... The real weak point in the Audible version is the narration unfortunately. It's not the main narrator, that side of things is fine (not brilliant but perfectly OK) but there are a number of voice actors for various characters and honestly these performances (and the recording quality) are simply ghastly...not in every instance admittedly but for the most part they really are bad and they do undoubtedly hinder things. The accents...oh the accents.

Great follow up to the godfather.
This is an amazing book with a great story. If you like the first book you'll like this one too.

Gripping story
It was a wonderful story that gripped all the way through. I found it better played at a slower rate as the full speed audible was too fast!

More Godfather
Second in the series that produced the Godfather film franchise. For me not quite as compelling as the first nevertheless a good listen and number three on my list to listen to

Terrible Narration
Brilliant story ruined by terrible narration. Very disappointing as the Godfather audio book had a much better Narrator.

Excellent Interpretation
I had a long voyage from the UK to Italy, drove 16 hours in total listening to this book, made my journey easy and kept me curious what's gonna happen after each chapter. Highly recommend it

Well written, well presented
The story was gripping all the way through, tying nicely to The Godfather but very very loosely. The ending at first annoyed me, before I realised that it was in style and accurate, believable. One could almost wonder if this were a testament of the truth itself rather than fiction.

Unfortunately terrible Performance
The performance with different readers mixed together does not work at all, especially due to what very much sounds like fake accents. Worst is the main reader unfortunately, absolutely no flow and as wooden as automatically read by a computer
