About this listen

Dallas Willard, one of today's most brilliant Christian thinkers and the author of The Divine Conspiracy ( Christianity Today's 1999 Book of the Year), presents a way of living that enables ordinary men and women to enjoy the fruit of the Christian life.

He reveals how the key to self-transformation resides in the practice of the spiritual disciplines, and how their practice affirms human life to the fullest. The Spirit of the Disciplines is for everyone who strives to be a disciple of Jesus in thought and action as well as intention.

A Really in depth Book on Spiritual Disciplines

There is lot that could be said bout this book but rather than drone on on its various points I will simply share that on the whole this book is very informative, challenging and practical for the budding disciple.

This is not a book to simple read and move on but rather one to consider and seek to apply.

Please give it a read and be sure to follow up once done, highly recommended!

starts well ends badly

The book starts very well. the narration is good and for most of the book the theology is solid. it falls down, as many American books do, by assuming the American dream is great and then interpreting the bible to support it rather than allowing the bible to direct the theology. whrn jesus said its harder for a camel to go through the eye of a needle , it doesn't really mean that it just means you need to take a passing glance at your behaviour etc. shame really. a lot of the book is good though so it's worth a listen but just be careful you don't believe everything they say.
