About this listen
Destroyed by fire years ago, the infamous Philadelphia State Hospital was known as a warehouse for the criminally insane. But one man never left. By night Luther walks Philadelphia's backstreets, drawing to him the mad, the corrupt, the fallen. By day he roams the catacombs beneath the city, killing his prey.
Detectives Kevin Byrne and Jessica Balzano are called to a bizarre murder scene: a man has been killed by a railroad spike driven into his head and left sitting on a bench in a local park. But it is just the beginning of a trail of evil that leads back to the hospital and the nightmares it still contains...

Complicated Plot But Well Written
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this to a friend if they are looking for a gripping but complicated plot.
Which character – as performed by William Hope – was your favourite?
The narrator was excellent, one of the best I've heard.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I felt frustrated listening to this book. I loved the author's writing style and really wanted to follow it, but it was way too complicated for me. I just couldn't make sense of it. I finished it to the end, but to be honest I was wishing it would hurry up so I could get onto another book. Having said that the detail and characterisation is excellent. I loved Jessica and Byrne, and the story was very descriptive and well written. Just too complicated for me. I would buy more audiobooks by this author in the hope of less complicated plots. As a police officer myself I found he captured the challenges and emotions of the serving detectives very well.

Draining!
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I so feel that i could have listened to something better than this! Endless jumping around that makes you wonder are you listening to the same book!
Has The Stolen Ones put you off other books in this genre?
YES!
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
It was OK
Did The Stolen Ones inspire you to do anything?
Yes - stop it playing and put something else on!
Any additional comments?
This is such a jumbled story, that after listening to 3/4 of it I gave up as I just dreaded having to listen to such a miss match of seemingly unrelated story lines.
