Faking things with Gretta should be simple fun. Scaring off her evil ex is a bonus. She makes the fire deep inside of me rage with desire, and I need to make things real. Will she accept me if I tell her I’m a dragon shifter? Hell, I don’t even know if she’ll believe me. Wizards have come to town, and they’re up to no good. Why do they want Gretta? It doesn’t matter. I’ll keep her safe. My heart is ready to heal, and my inner dragon is sure of one thing: She’s my fated mate.

Story
I knew being an omega would get me fired one day, I just never thought hiding it would be the excuse they needed. Irony, you suck. For years I was their best employee, right up until their new alpha hire smelled me in heat. I could’ve kept my job by playing his game, but I’ve spent my whole life running from my biology. I have principles. I also have bills. Which is the only reason my desperate search for a roommate ended with a grizzled alpha veteran, Stefan. Brooding and damaged from years of battle. My biology and I are not on speaking terms now.
Summary
The wearer of the Stone Crown can wield unlimited power - if it can be found.
A new evil creeps across the land of Torvald and its Three Kingdoms, where folktales are nearly all that remains of the glorious dragons’ victorious past. Inyene, a ruthless noblewoman of the Northern Kingdom, enslaves villagers and plunders valuable resources to power mechanical dragons. With them, she’ll conquer her rivals’ territories, ascend the high throne, and unite the realms under a single crown.
But all is not yet lost when there are those brave enough to fight. Hope rests on the shoulders of 16-year-old Narissea, who dreams of escaping her shackles and the injured dragon she rescues. What they discover in an ancient shrine holds the key to Narissea’s plans to free her people and puts her in Inyene’s sights.
Intrigue, war, and betrayal consume the land, while in the air dragons fly. Failure to stop Inyene will doom the kingdoms. But even in victory, Narissea may be forced to sacrifice the one thing she wants above all: her freedom.
The Stone Crown box set features Dragon Connection, Dragon Quest, and Dragon Freedom. Queen of the Dragons, Ava Richardson, invites you to immerse yourself in a dragon-filled world with epic magic, fearless characters and, at its heart, and the deep bond between dragon and rider.

Had potential, but fell short.
The story had a lot of potential, but it was constantly side tracked with a whining main character, whining character voices and accents that did not make sense along with so many mispronounced words. Character development was stunted, replaced with SJW style messaging. This felt more like a rough draft that needed to be fleshed out and pulled together to really tell the take well.

I agree with almost everyone else
The narrator ruined it for me. She was/is horrible! The dragon sounds like a cheesy vampire, the characters are all whiney, and way too high pitched. I'm going to buy the series and read it instead... actually cannot listen to the narration

Annoying voice performance
Amy has a whinny, nasal, mousy, can't hold accent, worst voice performance ever. I have listened to many of Ava's books and enjoy her stories and characters. Just cannot get past this annoying voice to even hear the story! And I'm only in 1st chapter of Book 1. No way I can listen any more.
I bought the trilogy, should have listened to a sample. Cannot believe the hired this voice performer.
Would like to rate higher but cannot get to story beyond Amy's annoying voice performance. Sound like she is performing to a baby or animal with that weeding high pitched voice.
Want my credits back.

Story is good, narration is not appropriate
This is the twenty-sixth book I have read/listened to by this author and I have really enjoyed the various series she has written. They span centuries cantered around the same world. I love how the interaction between the dragons and people varies between geographical locations and time. This story did not turn out to be near the top of my favourites but is still an integral part of the overall and I did enjoy it. I will listen to anything she writes. I previously listened to book 1&2 and have reviewed them independently. I got this to listen to book 3. ——-
This is the third book I have listened to by this narrator ( Amy Soakes ) and I would not choose to listen to another solely based on her narration. This being the third book, I’ve managed to mostly ignore it and try to focus on the story, however it was difficult. I still find her style inconsistent with the author’s description of emotions or actions. The narrator gives a Nari a snobbish, indifferent tone that is not portrayed in the wording. The emphasis she places on words make every conversation sound haughty and whiny. I do not think this is appropriate for the characters or storyline. She uses somewhat distinct voices for the characters, but the cadence and tone remain quite similar. I sampled some other books and this tone and style is her norm, not specific to this series. .——-
There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence, or swearing. ——-

Like the story. Frustrating to listen too.
After listening to the first two books so far it’s unclear if the main character or the author has a serious case of ADHD. The constant long inner irrelevant monologue during action scenes is head scratching. Then in places that the author would be expected to turn a scene into an epic encounter she passes the opportunity with only few words. I want to love it but sometimes I have to fight just to keep listening.
