Summary
The first is Dominic Caruso, a rookie FBI agent, barely a year out of Quantico, whose decisive actions resolve a particularly brutal kidnap/murder case. The second is Caruso's brother, Brian, a Marine captain just back from his first combat action in Afghanistan, and already a man to watch. And the third is their cousin...a young man named Jack Ryan, Jr.
Jack was raised on intrigue. As his father moved through the ranks of the CIA and then into the White House, Jack received a life course in the world and the way it operates from agents, statesmen, analysts, Secret Service men, and black ops specialists such as John Clark and Ding Chavez. He wants to put it all to work now, but when he knocks on the front door of "the Campus," he finds that nothing has prepared him for what he is about to encounter. For it is indeed a different world out there - and in here. And it is about to become far more dangerous.

Good story, shocking production
I really liked the story as it moved at a better pace than previous novels in the series with more narrative. However at times I thought some of the conversations and situations were unrealistic and it was far shorter than most Jack Ryan books.
My main gripe, along with others is the production. The narrator is poor, his Mexican accent sounds Irish and his wistful reading makes him sound like he's reading Tom Sawyer. Also, the editing is appalling with many sentances repeated.
It's one of those you have to listen to if you are working through the series but I'll be asking for a refund because Audible really need to do better.

Don't judge Tom Clancy on this ridiculous reading.
This put me off Tom Clancy as the narration is really really annoying. The story and writing is great but I just hated the treatment and can't get past it.

Possibly the worst Clancy ever written
Did Tom Clancy really write this? I'm not so sure. Almost nothing happens in this book except a lengthy exploration of the morality of pre-emptive killing to prevent terrorism. And as for the small talk: ye Gods...it was toe-curling. Talk about stilted! Do any brothers on the face of this planet talk to each other like the two in this story? If I hadn't read another Clancy this book would have put me off forever. It is the anti-Clancy.

Entertaining story but....
The blooming narration kept jumping around!! To such an extent that I can’t recommend this title.

Audio editing
Great book and excellent narration although the editing was irritating as many sections were duplicated.

Good Story
Not as believable as the other stories in the series but still enjoyable. Performance very good, spoilt somewhat by a huge number of repeated lines. The quality control of this recording is awful, I think there must be at least 5 minutes of repeated lines in this and got to the point that it became more and more annoying each time it happened.

Poor Narration Editing
Throughout the narrative sentences were consistently repeated, as though they were recording breaks and then restarted. These duplicated sentences should have been removed prior to distribution, and became exceedingly annoying, spoiling what was a reasonably good story. I found the narrator's voice a little "off" as well.

Repeat loops
This story is ruined by the constant repeat loops that pepper the story which derail the narrative.
I’m very surprised to discover such poor quality on audible, it’s the first time I’ve come across it
