About this listen
Over the next five years, millions of more Americans are expected to take Ozempic and other GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, which are rapidly being recognized as the miracle drugs of this century. If you’re not on them, you’ll probably know someone who is. What are the implications of the widespread use of these drugs, both on our bodies and our society? In this show, you’ll meet people across America who are either taking the jab or thinking about it, and the shocking intentional and unintentional results they are seeing. The Thin Line looks at the promise and the peril of GLP-1s today, and explores what will happen in the near future with the democratization of these breakthrough drugs.

Informative and friendly
Interesting and informative. I like the fact there are so many people interviewed to get different perspectives on different body types.

easy to relate to
fat or thin, "most" people seem to be unhappy with [a part] of their bodies.
So can you be fat and healthy?
Thin and unhealthy?
Where did the fat/health statistics come from?
The reader is taken through these questions in an unbiased way.

Very interesting and engaging
Very interesting, engaging and accessible series which discussed the pros and cons of weight loss jabs but also gave a history of weight loss meds and the diet industry, looked at wider societal implications of these new medications and the effects they are having and will likely have on other industries and cultural movements etc. I really enjoyed it.

Very bad production quality and random conspiracy
From a production point of view this is difficult to listen to. Parts of this are randomly a third of the volume to other parts, dead air across it and constant 1 second looping audio over people talking for zero reason. There's moments where someone will say "Mexico" and it will interupt the interview to play stereotypical mariachi music. Production-wise it's like the worst of TikTok slop put into an audio book.
I could ignore that if it wasn't for the fact that there were constant drive-by extreme conspiracy theories made with no explanation, stated as fact, by people who have zero expertise to be making them. Some of the people interviewed had no reason to be interviewed, they were just people pushing referral codes for chemists on social media.
This is a fascinating topic but you will come out less informed after listening to this.
